Good one Paul, LOL. That's one to remember.

Happiness for you, Philip and family!

Hey, you guys ever try to get the leaves/pine straw off of your house roof and gutters in a 10-15 mph wind that keeps changing direction (kind of like doing something else in the wind:eek: :D ). At least my Spring yardwork (grassy kind) is almost done. Oh brother, where's my Zyrtec? a-a-a-a-achoo, again!:D

Afternoon, Everyone.

Great news , Phillip, I hope he recovers well at home. I've been lucky enough never to be in a hospital overnight but I know I'd like to be in my own bed a lot more than a hospital bed.

REX, LOL...Us old guys can think quick given the right motivation. :) We actually had an alligator strolling down Main Street a few weeks ago. Apparently came out of the Autauga Creek swamp area and decided to visit town. Took the cops and fire department quite a while to herd him back into the water. I didn't even think we had alligators this far north but I guess we do.

The poor folks in Arkansas are getting hit with some bad flooding. I'm glad to hear that the snowmelt in the rest of the midwest has not been a problem. The end of March always meant the first day over 70 in Cleveland was just around the corner so I hope that holds true for the rest of you in the northeast who have had such a long winter.

Ray, any guy getting an Electrical AP should be able handle some dead batteries. :D Hope the dress rehearsal goes well and that you get some good news on your certificate.

Rex, at least you're kind of used to Southern pollen. This is just killing me since it took me 35 years to get used to California pollen. I've been sneezing and coughing like crazy. I'm not even touching my pine straw until these winds die down and we get some more rain to settle the pollen. The grass doesn't seem to bother me much but the pine trees plus all the other assorted plants I've had no exposure to in the yard knock me for a loop.

Did anyone else get that idiotic letter from the IRS telling me they were going to send me money in May? The letter says you don't have to do anything, just file your tax return. OK, if I don't have to do anything, why bother wasting time and money sending me a letter? Seems kind of like your grandma sending you a birthday card three months early letting you know she was going to send money in your real birthday card three months later. :(

Nice day down here except for the wind and low humidity. It's 65 with 19% humidity right now, kind of like being in the desert. I'm glad we've had some rain or half the state would be on fire.

Evening all
Rex Fingers crossed but it looks like were on the move again,,, women,,,
i was looking up a huge pine tree yesterday, it looks to be leaning more than last week, bet that will shed some pine neadles if it goes.
Philip Nice one, hope he keeps on getting better.

Afternoon, Everyone.

Thanks Jim! The batteries are old ones that were used during the performances of last years show. We just didn't expect that 5 would go dead all at once 10 minutes before the end of the rehearsal..... BTW that letter I just filed under political shenanigans. If I need a $600 loan (they just put it on your share of the National Dept.) I can get one cheaper at my Credit Union. If all goes well and I stay healthy, I will have all my debts paid off in 2 years. That includes the Business stuff and the house improvements I've done over the last several years and the new car. Then the money goes into CDs for the Nursing Home sometime in the future.......;) :D

Philip I know that you son son will be very glad to get home. I bet Mom and Dad are even happier!

Philip- That is absolutely wonderful news about your son!!! Glad to hear that he gets to sleep in his own bed again.

I made my way down to the LHS at lunch today to pick up an Athearn RTR boxcar in the WSOR/Fight Cancer scheme, looks great by the way, and was handed a flyer for a swap meet/show this weekend right here in town. It's the 15th annual Rock Island Railroad Meet and is held at the library here. Sounds like there should be some really cool memorabilia and models of all scales as well as vendors selling who-knows-what. I will definitely be making some time on Saturday morning to make an appearance there. :)

There's been a breakout! My boy's been sprung!

I just brought him and his mother home.

Gotta go help out with some stuff now......later!

Jim: We have gators up here in West Central Alabama on the Tombigbee, Sipsey, and some lower parts of the Warrior. I have seen several while fishing these waters. Many farmers near Columbus, Miss. have had to get help getting them out of their farm ponds.

Steve: That is grand! Better pack your suitcase and go now.:D

Ray: Good Luck on the AP.

Philip: Don't it feel wonderful to have your family back as one.;) :)

Another late rehearsal....... I got there this evening to find that the sound system had been used by someone today and left on. The duplicate reciever for mic #1 (radio) was on at the board in the back and had been turned on by someone last wekk. That, of course had screwed up the mic that was being used by "Golde". We had gone through and chaged all the settings last night for her as she was way too loud...... Tonight we set them all back. I hate it when people use something and don't put it back.....!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr!

Oh well, on another note, here is something to check out from SciTek Camp last summer. Just getting around to getting some video shorts finished for camp promotion. Go here: http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h259/slow_rr/SciTek07/ and click on "Rockets". Enjoy!

Good morning folks

Baseball weather? Yeah right! I froze my rear end off last night at the kids’ practices. The thermometer said 47 F but I think it was playing a cruel joke on us. It is 45 F this morning and it feels warmer than it did at the ball fields last night. Today’s high is supposed to be 60 F.

I continued entering rolling stock inventory into the computer. I finished gondolas last night. Not sure if I’ll do any tonight. We have Cub Scout Pack Meeting tonight. Also we have to pick up my daughter’s travel league uniform since she has a tournament this weekend.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning everyone and a happy Wednesday to you all. :)

It is definitely getting warmer in Iowa. I did not wear a jacket for the first time this year, always a good feeling.

Tom- concerning you inventory listings. Being that I am still a newbie and that I started inventory of my locos and rolling stock from the start, it's a short list :D, I am curious as to what information you list with each piece.

Well good morning everyone!

Yes, I got them home last night. The wife and boy got to sleep in their own beds, and man, did they crash! They're very happy to be home though. I think my son is about done with hospitals for a while, and so is my wife. They still have lots of follow-ups, but thats nothing. I keep telling him (teasing, ya know) that he looks like a house fell on him or that he's some kind of horrible accident victim. I mean, he broke a finger a week before the surgery, so his hand is in a cast, and now both legs are in casts, and they're all big casts, so he really pulls on your heart when you look at him.

Looks like the weather is getting warmer around here. Might even hit low 60's on Sunday!

Today: mixed clouds & sun - high: 58

Well, I have some work to get to, so I'll be off. Later!

Sounds like your son is quite the sight Philip. :D Glad that they are both back home and I hope that all goes well for them.

Good Morning Folks !!! just another springy day here , getting up to a delightful 44 . Not much going on just drinking coffee and tryin to figure what to have for breakfast . Nothing earthshattering . Hoping everyone has a wonderful day !

Mornin' everyone!

I'll just ditto what Paul said. currently 43°F with a high of 42°F. That's what it says on the Weather Channel....... The sun is even peeking through now and then.

My paperwork arrived at out AP chairman's house yesterday and he has made a couple of suggestions already, so I have been redoing a couple of items. He will go through each one with a fine toothed comb and let me know soon what needs to be done. I am starting to get excited about the AP Certificate and hope that I can get everything done for it soon. April marks the 1 year point from getting the Golden Spike Award and I would like to get one AP Certificate a year if possible.

Thats nice just won a limited edition model on ebay, got it posted yesterday and the sellers given me a full re fund for some reason today ??? Thats a good deal :)

Sounds like a really nice seller. :D

Morning all.

Temps are going back to the high 30s today with rain on and off all day too. Temps were in the mid 50s yesterday and I liked that just fine, wish it would have continued on like that. :(
