, hopefully i'll get it finished by weekend but it's so hot so things are going a little slow, better late than never.:)

Hi everyone. Its HOT here in Alabama! Had a lot of reading to catch up on here. I've been " across the street " looking at the new site......Well its not new anymore, so I'm back. I still think this is the "best" forum.
Carey - congratulations on the new job.

KenL - Glad to see you and your family are back safe and sound.

Later all, Stan.

Hi Stan! Glad you could stop by. Yes, it is HOT (99 here today) and looks like the whole country is suffering the same.
Come on football weather!

Good Morning all

JUst got back from Tatagamouche and the funniest thing showed up in my luggage when I was unpacking. A Diesel! where did it come from?!? Not sure but I did see a reallly nice H16-44 in CP livery (old) that was deserving of a good home at the Train Station Inn!

It was $45 but needs new handrails.

Had a great time with feet up, a couple of mags, RR related books and a couple of kits to build:D

Later All

Fergie

G'morning crew!

Uh-oh Fergie - you did it again, you let your guard down! Did any of those H16's ever make it into the CPRail "PacMan" scheme? I was thinking that color [sun-bleached and faded of course] might be a better match with some of your other rolling stock, such as your ore jennies...

Steve - how 'bout some progress pix of that Kids' subdivision?

Rex and Stan, looks like you 'Bama guys don't have a total monopoly on heat - there's plenty of that to go around up here in the MidLantic too!

Back to work...toodles!

Ken/Rex;

Just got through reading the forecast on the NWS site.

Heat indices 105-109 in our area today through Thursday.

Gimme a BIG glass of lemminade, Flo, and don't spare the ice there.

I have to make a run to the trash dump, and take the old workbench away.

Boy, will it be hot!

Hi all, IT'S hot, dam hot, to hot for me, it's been a nice balmy 93f today and it's forcast for 100f + tommorow,,,Nice.

Those poor folk's in Indonesia have drawn the short straw again, another tsunami struck yesterday with a wall of water 23ft high at it's peak near the 7.7 epicenter of the quake, 57,000 have been displaced from their homes with over 300 lost lives, there has been very lottle media coverage of this event due to the ever deepening middle east crisis,,, prayers to everyone.

Take time to chill out Fergie with your new friend the diesel, very good chioice.

hear we go Ken, before during and after, it's not finished yet, the return loop has to be built yet

Yup, it's very green, they are more than happy with it, just got to position the shops and houses and paint a few roads and hey presto, loads of fun

Hi all and welcome back Fergie. A diesel? Just showed up? Hmmm! I really like that kind of the baggage handling.:D

Steve: Man, when you go to building a layout you really get on it. I bet the kids will have a great time.

Carey: Congratulations to Hoover, Alabama being named in the top 100 USA small cities 'Best to live in'. How about sharing some of that big rain you got today. It was 100 temp here with a 109 heat index:eek: .

Fellows, it was like walking around inside your kitchen oven. I'll never make fun of you snow birds again:D .

KenL: Yeah, the whole country is hot!! We sent some heat up to you for drying you out from all the earlier rains. Let me know if you could use some more:D .

Mornin to you Bill. I will have to pass on the pastries from now on. The Doctor gave me the official word yesterday that I am now a diabetic. Drastic changes for my diet and eating habits. That sure is not going to be any fun. Not nearly as many sweets and much smaller portions at meal times which I have been trying to do since the first of the year any way.

Well, not the best news of course. But look on the bright side. With all that healthy eating, think what a stud muffin you'll become! Mrs. G will have to carry a stick to beat off the chicks from now on. ;)

Larry,
My F-I-L was diagnosed with diabetes back in 1998. He's pushing 80 now, and he still seems to find lots of munchies to enjoy [with no adverse effects] in spite of his condition!:D

Rex"Fellows, it was like walking around inside your kitchen oven. I'll never make fun of you snow birds again." I don't believe you!
You just cannot resist temptation.
We got about 1/2" of rain in Leeds and the pavement dried in about 20 minutes. I got a free sauna treatment walking out to roll down my truck windows after the rain.

Mikey;

You think that was rough, after the rain here, I had to go get my laptop out of my truck. Stepped out into the sunshine onto my deck, "swam" downstairs, got the laptop, "swam" back upstairs. Thank God for AC.
