Well, Bill, you seem to be running a little late today......

I have been trying to get ready for Music Camp at our Church Camp all day. As always I say this year I will start earlier and get everything done with time to spare, and every year something comes up (usually one of my best customers that has to have a bunch of CDs made right away!) that keeps me running until the last possible moment. I will be gone for the week so I will miss everyone over here at the forum. :(

Ray, I hope you have a good time and come back to us with a smile.;)
REX:)

Hey guys,
we're putting in a window and we neede to cut part of the board away so my dad bought a Dremel. It came with 55 accessories and 4 attachments.

Thank you Rex! This is always the best week of the year. Really recharges my batteries as it is the only musical directing I do now. Great Music, great kids, great people that I work with there.

dekruif, your new dremel sounds cool. You will enjoy working with it and it is a great labor saver!

Hi crew, this is my second day back from top o' the mountain, and I'm still trying to decompress. You won't be seeing any new WPF stuff from me for awhile I'm afraid...

I'll start with a riddle, those of you who have [or had] teenage kids should appreciate this:

Q: What is a question from the mouth of a 16yr-old girl that offers uncontestable evidence that she does not know EVERYTHING?

A: Dad, WHY isn't the Internet working?

That's right, on top of all the other honey-dues I was confronted with upon my return, I spent an hour on the telephone with LinkSys tech support to get my router working again - the firmware apparently got hosed during a power outage that occurred while we were out of town.

Looks to be another scorcher here in the Mid Atlantic region today. Not sure what I can look forward to, it's too hot for mowing/weeding but I need a break from train stuff.

That's about all for now, I need to help get myself and the family ready for Mass. C-U-L

Hi gang! How's your weekend been going? I was just looking at the National weather and it predicts that all of us will be very hot the next few days. Our heat index for today is suppose to be 109deg. It was 108 index yesterday, but we did get a good shower that cooled it off some.

KENL: Have a good rest, but please let your fingers still work on the keyboard for this forum.;)

I had a very good Saturday with CJcrescent and his friend Scott coming over from Birmingham for a layout visit. Scott is getting ready for the "Big Switch": DC to DCC conversion. He got a chance to clarify many of his concerns and operate trains without throwing toggle switches in his route. I hope we didn't bury him in the deluge of answers he received for his questions, but its hard to hold back when you enjoy and support the system as much as we do.

You guys/gals have a gooooood day and ........stay cool!

Rex,

Scott had a really great time yesterday! All we discussed on the way home was DCC. Specifically info on specific engine installs. Wow:D what a day!

Right now there's thunder in the distance, and we've had several showers already. Looks like we're about to get some more rain shortly! YEA!!!

Scott's worried about having the means to convert his locomotives to DCC. I did my best to tell him don't worry about getting all his engines done at once. He felt better when I told him that I still hadn't converted all mine after 5 yrs.:p but the end is in site.

Now for some news to everyone...

After searching for 4 yrs, I have Finally got a job.:D:D:D I will be a medical software trainer. While I worked in the OR as a RN for almost 30yrs, This is a lot of what I did. Now I found a position that seems custom made for me.:) Pay and benefits are almost 3 times what I made as a Nurse! Plus while I'm at the training site, the client pays for everything!:p:D

I start on the 27th of this month!:D

Carey, CONGRATS --- that's great news!

Kudos from here also Carey. It is great to get paid for what you know and you also appreciate your job that much more, at least I always have when I get paid for what I know. My wife keeps telling me that if that were true I would pay them for letting me come in. LOL LOL LOL

So today, surfing eBay, I realize that some people's intellegence CANNOT be underestimated:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...10009262439&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
According to the seller AND Ducati, there were only 150 Matrix Edition 998's imported to the US. Infact in 2004 there were only 300 998's imported total, between the Matrix & the 998FE's. Whats this IDIOT do? He REPAINTS a $27k bike, black, effectively HALFING the value of the bike. Its nothing more then a Stock 2002/2003 998 now. SO sad, if I could afford it, I'd buy it, and REDO the Matrix paint!

EDIT Or for the Bike fans on here, I'm looking into becoming a dealer!!! Check out the bikes I'll stock:

Josh;

When I was working the hospital, we called all motorcycles two things:

1. ORTA Orthopedic Resident Training Apparatus.:)
2. Murdercycles. (obvious):(

Hehe, "there's two types of riders, those who've been down, and those who will go down..." I dunno I know I'll fall/drop it someday, but bikes are my world... beyond the internet & trains...

CJ-"After searching for 4 yrs, I have Finally got a job."
Congrats!!!! But the other side of WORK, (having more money for modeling) is that you don't have nearly as much time to do the modeling!

WOHO! Got my SD24's!!! And Dang these old atlas units were DETAILED in the molding, kinda wish I wasn't planning to cut them up...
