Good morning folks

It was 64 F humid and raining hard when I left the house. At work everything was dry. It looked like it had not rained since the overnight. What a difference 18 miles can make sometimes. Hopefully the rain will hold off as my daughter is going to the Philadelphia Zoo with her school class and my wife is one of the chaperons. High today will be 79 F.

I put away some trains and straighten up the layout last night. Now it looks like a layout instead of storage area for freight cars, locomotives, tools, paints, and other miscellaneous stuff.

We had to take one of our dogs to the vet yesterday. He was having trouble walking and would yelp if you touched him a certain way. He is OK. It looks like he strained his back. He probably did it horsing around with our other dog. He is on medication and after only 12 hours is getting around better and seems happier. If the meds don’t work within the next two weeks then it could be a ruptured disc and we will have to see what to do next.

I installed two window A/C units last night. One in our bedroom and the other in my father-in-law’s. I still have the kids’ rooms to do. I can’t do them until the cleanout the bottom of their closets so I can get their A/C units out. A sane man won’t go into their closets so it is up to them when they can installed.

Tonight we were supposed to have a Tiger sign-up night for Cub scouts. However, our council representative was not able to visit the Kindergarten Center. She maybe is doing it today or tomorrow. So tonight we will just hold a pre-camping trip meeting for out camping trip this weekend. We will do our Tiger Sign-up as part of our Marbles Night later this month.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning Bill , Jeffrey & Tom ! Looks like it;s gonna be a nice day here today , It's 61 going up to 71 and no rain. But not much sun either . jim I have to correct you a bit . The Bills were to 4 straight Suberbowls but we never won one . The liked to party too much back then, The last time the Bills won a Championship was back in the American Football League in 1965 . We've been waiting a long time just like the Browns . On Another note slept with the windows open last night and had to put the sheet on this morning . Got a bit cool out !! Well gonna get out and have some coffeee on the patio so hope you all have a real nice day !!!!

Mornin' everyone!

It's 67°F outside and cloudy. May get some showers tonight, then the heat comes in. So I'm about ready to get to work and see how much I can get done today. Our last meeting of the Board of Deacons at church is tonight. We won't meet over the summer so I won't have to prepare another agenda till September......

Have a great day!

Afternoon, everyone.

Chris, that was a really nice story about the six year old getting his own train room. Looks like the people who did the work had some experience too, since it came out really good. They didn't say what was wrong with the boy but I assume some kind of cancer, probably leukemia by the looks of him. I pray God is gentle with him.

Rain...what's rain? It hasn't rained here now in more than three weeks and everything is starting to die again. I can see another $400 water bill in my future.

Paul, I meant to say that the Bills had at least made it to the Super Bowl. There was an old joke that surest way to make money in Vegas was to bet against the Bills in the Super Bowl. :) The Browns have never gotten past the general joke stage. :(

Tom, I hope your dog is OK. I don't know anything about animal medicine but I think that dogs do well with NSAID's like Motrin for back pain.

Ray, enjoy the cool weather while it lasts. I remember summers in Cleveland and this is about the time it started getting miserable.

I hope Carl is OK. There was a really bad tornado about 35 miles from Indianapolis this morning and I don't know if Carl lives in that area. Looks like that severe weather is moving into Ohio and Pennsylvania now.

Jeffrey, sounds like your weather is pretty much like ours except we never had any clouds. Overnight low was 72 and it's up to 99 degrees now with a heat index of 104. But, on the bright side, the A/C is still working and it's a nice, comfortable 72 in the house. I have no idea how people survived here before air conditioning. They must have been way tougher than me.

It's a nice 68 in my trailer right now. Later in the year that'll go up to 71-72 as the outside temps go into the triple digits. It's not unusual to see 120 and above here.

Rain......... We Gots Some Rain!

The sea breezes collied close enough to us to get some drizzles! Brooksville 12 miles away got nailed good! what we got was enough to turn out side into a steam cooker! I hope more of it spills over us..........I may gots a new account today:) Just to clean and wash gutters for now, but it's extra money!:D :D

Just finished painting and re assembly of the tin tiger, i went for this look rather than the plain sand as the Tunisia tanks were painted. I also chopped off the commanders cupola as it was the wrong way round, i then glued it back in the correct position

i am quite impressed with this

Jeffrey, the high here was 101. The worst I've seen it since I've been here was five straight days of 112 degree temps. The A/C could barely keep the house below 78, especially since it wasn't going down below 80 at night. I only have a four ton unit, which is really undersized for the size of house I have. When this one gives up the ghost, I'll replace it with a 5 ton unit.

Steve, that is one cool looking tank, especially with the new paint job. If I remember right, the real Tigers had problems with the exhausts overheating and cooking off the ammo stored in the turret bustle. They had to redesign the exhaust system with heavy steel shields, which I think is the modification that was already made on your model. Except for the interleaved wheels on the track system, it's amazing how many ideas are used from the Tiger series even in modern tanks.

No video Yet,,, sorry Carl, one will come by soon.
Jim They were miles ahead of there time, the biggest stumbling block was the speed at which it took to build them, you could knock up a dozen Shermans in the time it took to build one Tiger.

Just had a skirmish and got some battle damage, did it with blow lamp and an old metal ruler

Mighty fine, Steve! How about a photo with something in it to give perspective...maybe you. I can't tell how big that thing is ;).

OK here you go, the Liebherr is 1/87 scale, the track looks tiny :)

the front drive sprocket fell off today,,, whoops, someone had forgotten to do up the set screw

I got the air conditioner in the window today and lo and behold, it still works.... The "handyman" who does most of my house repairs that I no longer care to do myself showed up early afternoon and repaired the outside water pipe. I can now water the garden if I ever get time to plant it and it is getting late!

The board of Deacons meeting was a short one as most of the folks who head up various work of the board gave a report that consisted of, "all set"....... I kiddingly told them that the minimum length of our meetings has to be at least an hour, but was out voted so we were done and out of the church and talking in the parking lot in 50 minutes. A new record!

It is still 70° outside at 9:15. Shut of the air conditioner and put the fan in the bedroom window. The low tonight will be 60° and the high close to 90° for the next few days.

Wow, Steve, that gives a whole new meaning to maintenance of way equipment. :) You're right, the Tiger took way too much fabrication compared to the cast hull Sherman. It was an inferior tank in most aspects but, as the war went on, the experienced German tank crews were killed off and better train US and British tank crews took good advantage of both number and training to defeat the remaining Tigers and King Tigers. Nice job on that battle damage.

Ray, glad to hear the A/C unit worked first time up. Let's see, it's still 82 here at 10:15 pm. I don't think the wife and daughters would take too kindly to the fan in the window idea.

HOLY COW! That thing is BIG! (I don't believe the trackhoe has a chance. :D)
Does it move realistically? Never mind, I don't want to know nuttin, no nuttin, hush, I don't want to hear .................

$700 just for the tank you still have to get a 4-8 channel radio, Batts, Charger, and the nerve to as the wife:eek:

Steve, that tank is awsome, needs more battle damage like small arms dent and dings, parts of trees, building debris and crew on it, and scratches!:D
"Happy hunting Tiger comander Steve!:D"

Dat #4 of vacation, My son 1/2 day yesterday, buying stuff for his wii. No beach:mad: Maybe today he'll want to go:D

Good morning folks

It was a muggy 66 F with threatening skies on my way to work this morning. We have a slight chance of thunderstorms for the day with a high of 79 F. We are currently under and Excessive Heat Watch because we will be in the high nineties for the weekend. Saturday we could reach 97 F.

No modeling last night. We had a Cub Scout meeting to discuss our weekend camping trip.

I hope everybody has a good day.
