If you do not have virus software, I recommend AVG Free.
http://free.grisoft.com/

This software caught the virus on my computers.
AVG free is what I use. The AVG free 8.0.1 not only catches viruses, it also catches spyware, malware and spam. It also scans your email (incoming and outgoing), all links and downloads. Not bad for free.

Good morning.

It's 74 degrees and mostly cloudy. The high today is expected to be in the mid 90's. Partly cloudy conditions should prevail.
With the combination of rain and sunshine the grass has grown up tall and thick. Looks like it's time to cut grass.

Morning all.

I talked with the contractor in charge of the rebuilding of our street yesterday. He informed me that they were planning on pouring the easments of all the driveways, backfilling all of the curbing, and laying the asphalt this week.....weather permitting of course. Of course it is currently pouring rain here again and we are sitting in a thunderstorm watch until at least Noon. I guess that means that it will be at least 2 more weeks of waiting to get back to my own driveway.

I've asked around about how long we can be kept from our driveways and it sounds like there really isn't anything about it anywhere. I'll have to do some more digging.

In other construction news, there is a two-lane bridge spanning around 450 feet or so about 7 miles north of town that is being rebuilt also. It was scheduled to be completed in November of 2007 but, it still is not done. I was told this morning that the contractor in charge of that project is being fined on a daily basis foir each day that it is not completed and one of the local residents stated that there are quite a few workers out there each day trying to get it done. Let's just hope that the integrity of the bridge does not suffer for the sudden desire to hurry things along.

Good morning folks

It was 74 F as I came in late to work this morning. It will be 84 F with sun. I came in late because I had to drop my son off at school this morning. He had to bring in his project for Social Studies. Of course this meant that I had to deal with extra heavy traffic on the way in.

We spent a part of the evening taking down our new tent and pack it away. It took about 5 tries to get it small enough to fit back into the carrying cases. No modeling last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' everyone!

Just popin' in for a quick cup of coffee before I go get the rest of the wood. So far it looks pretty nice outside, but showers are predicted for this afternoon.

Best get moving. Have a great day!

:) Good Morning all! Believe I will have an early lunch. Hey Flo, you are looking fine in that new...err...(rather short) uniform:p . How about a fanny, I mean salami on rye with lemonade. Is Ray buying today?

Man, it is scorching outside with the temp already at 87degF and heat index at 93deg. Oh why couldn't I have been rich enough to have a home in the mountains for the summer, or where Paul and Ray live. :D .

Have a happy day!

Sure, Flo, put it my bill. The current temperature here in the Finger Lakes is 72°F and the high will be 70°F. Yep! That's what the Weather Channel says....

Steve I think it is located in the same spot on this side of the pond...LOL

Got the rest of the wood across town. With what I got earlier this Spring, It will be almost enough to do the winter. Would be nice to get a couple more face cords stockpiled though. The baby robin has fledged the nest. It was out on my lawn yesterday evening. Mom and Dad robin were very upset I was nearby. They did almost everything possible to get me away from there.

Gotta go and get my hands on my new tank, an almost all metal tiger 1, lol its HEAVY, i'm re painting it into desert sand colours from the standard tank grey

Afternoon, everyone.

Well, it never fails. Got up this morning and the central A/C unit is on the fritz. It's only 101 outside right now and my A/C guy still has three calls in front of me. Oh, well, the basement actually has two window units and that's where the layout is so I think I'll move down there for the day.

CJ, I'm glad to hear you guys are ahead on rain. Seems like Rex and me are getting the short end of the stick. Rex, it sure looked impressive on radar Sunday for you not to get anything out of it. :( CJ, the Biscuits are a pretty strange name for a team but the people here voted it in. I guess everyone likes biscuits. :) I prefer it to Rebels though.

Paul, at least the Bills have won a few Superbowls. The Browns have never even made it to a Superbowl and the Indians last won the World Series when I was two, in 1948. The Indians go through the same PC name controversy every few years, especially the Chief Wahoo character. The people in Cleveland listen politely and then do what they want. I suspect it would take calling out the National Guard to get the name changed.

Chris, we already have a giant Confederate flag about 20 miles north of us on Interstate 65. It was put up by the Sons of Confederate Veterans and there's also a Confederate Memorial Park nearby. No one thinks it's in the slightest bit offensive...or at least no will admit it if they do. :)

Josh, I've looked at your galleries since April 5 and AVG has never picked anything up. I regularly scan with Ad-Aware also and nothing unusual has been spotted. Maybe this trojan didn't get past anyone with a decent virus scanner.

Carl, most construction contracts have what they call a penalty clause, where the contractor has to pay a certain amount per day for every day the project finishes behind schedule. That's probably why they are rushing to get the bridge complete. Assuming you have competent inspectors (which is by no means a given), the quality shouldn't suffer. I'd still call you local road office and ask to speak to the project manager in charge of your paving project. Let him know you're getting fed up and find out what the original completion date was supposed to be. You can take the contractor to small claims court if he's past the completion date and you are suffering inconvenience because of his late finish.

Whew, it's hot! Up to 82 in the house, which is better than 101 in the yard but I sure hope they get the A/C back on line today or I'm going to have to listen to three women moaning about how terrible it is. It really isn't that awful for me and I'm a Yankee. They are all natives and can't stand the slightest bit of heat. Go figure. :D

I'm assuming most people didn't get effected at all, I haven't noticed it until last night, so I'm not sure when it got in there. In fact it may have just got in there yesterday, there's no way of knowing.

Server looks all good now however.

Whew, the A/C guy got here about 3:00. It was a bad contacter, probably from ants getting inside the contacter and getting fried. There was a lot of carbon built up from something, that's for sure. So, $145 later, I have A/C again and won't die. :)

hey, Steve! I'll tape my air soft MP5 on top of my BL/Li-ion powered Traxxas Rustler....... Fast attack vehical:eek: Give a new meaning of Hit and run!:D

Yes, post some pic's and vid of it..... steve! I want to see this beast! :D

Jim glad you got the AC fixed and that it didn't cost any more than it did..... Tomorrow here in the Finger lakes will be only 71°F, but the next several days are supposed to get up to 90°. So.... tomorrow I will get the Air Conditioner for the main part of the house out of mothballs and into the window. I'm hoping that just being prepared will mean the weatherman will about 10° on the high side. ;) ;) :D I will wait a couple of weeks before putting the one in my bedroom in the window as the nights will be cool enough to just use the fan.

Ah, Ray, I remember nights when it was cool enough to have the windows open, even during the summer. Could hear the crickets and nightingales and feel a breeze. Here, it's like I live in a sealed tomb from about the middle of May until sometime in October. It's still 78 degrees as I write this and probably won't get much below 75 by morning. Then it will get up to near 105 later today. And this goes on week after week, without end, it sometimes seems. Not having A/C is really a huge problem with a newer house like mine since they were built to be sealed tombs and have so few windows you'd never get any cross ventilation even if it did cool off. But, I do have a really competent A/C company I use that Dianna's family has been using for 40 years. They are really good and don't cheat you, both rarities in today's world. Anyway, enjoy your breeze and I hope your A/C fires up without a problem.
