Afternoon, everyone.
Paul, congrats on making it to 35 years with the same woman. I'm sure she's expecting something special for you tonight...if you know what I mean.
Steve, those tanks look like the real thing. I'm sure the kids must be having a ball.
Phillip, tornados sure show nature's fury. It sounds like you got off lucky like we did down here in terms of loss of life. There's still reconstruction going on here since our tornado hit in February so it's a long process.
Ray, I'm glad to hear you finally got your electrical certificate. How much would I have to pay you to come down here and install a signal detection system?

It's too bad that the NMRA doesn't have a Master Screwup Certificate program - I'd pass that in a heartbeat.
Rex, you guys get any rain up there yesterday? We got nothing and we're dying down here. It's 100 degrees right now and everything is starting to die again.

I'm with Chris, we need rain here in the southeast bad.
Carl, like Tom says, there's no way they can block your driveway that long without giving some alternate access. I'd call the city (or county) engineer's office and start raising a stink. Too bad about you car getting hit on top of it.
Jeffrey, I hope things work out OK with that bad toe. I know how hard it is to walk in those camboots, especially with the heat we have to contend with. You're right about thoughtless people taking up handicap parking space. I used to cite everyone I could find who did that. California raised the fine to $500, which cut down on a lot of that problem.
Chris, the problem with elderly drivers confusing the brake with the accelerator is nationwide. The problem is that restricting licenses or even regular retesting of elderly drivers is a hot button issue for powerful organizations like the AARP so no progress is being made in solving the problem of elderly drivers being involved in accidents. Most states now put a lot of restrictions on driving by those under 18, which has dramatically reduced the death rate among young drivers. Elderly drivers are now involved in more fatal accidents than under 18 drivers. About the only thing we could do in California was write them a ticket for mandatory retesting if we saw them driving badly on the road. I don't even know if they have that provision in Alabama or Florida.
Our Biscuits lost the game by one run Saturday and the chances for another Southern League championship are quickly fading away. It was 88 at game time without a breeze stirring. Man, it was hot and sweaty. We had seats right behind home plate so it was still a fun game to watch. There were thunderstorms all around us yesterday but we got nothing. This is starting to remind of the last two summers. Another hot, dry summer is going to make me very irritated. I have no sprinklers because it's supposed to, in theory, rain here in the summer. So, it's off to drag the hose around my palatial estate and try to keep the lawn from dying.
