Tom, I hope everything is OK up there. There is some really nasty weather moving through PA right now.

They rolled through here quickly. We actually got two rounds. First one had some heavy rain and a little bit of lightening. The second one was all rain. Everything was cleared up by 7 PM. Humidity has gone way down so it feels nice right now.

We had a short but nasty storm come through Geneva just as we were sitting down to dinner at the Troop 4 BSA 90th. anniversary party tonight. Didn't see any real damage except for a few small limbs that came down on the way home. Only lasted a couple of minutes but we probably got a 1/4 inch of rain or more out of it and some high winds. As quickly as it started, it stopped, and the sun came out.

When I got home, I found I had an e-mail from Peter Nesbitt, AP Manager for the Niagara Frontier Region NMRA letting me know he has accepted my work for the Electrical Certificate and that it is on its way to National Office for final approval. Definitely cool!

Here's a photo of the new main board still in the box. Doesn't look like $600 does it?

The display board that goes with it is huge! Most of it is heat sink.

Chris: "I agree with you human error.....but it's nice to pass the blame on to china! LOL's"
"I dun'no:confused: , but it didn't happen on my watch.":D

Jim: Great insight to the commodities market. I have always been interested in them and other investments to play around with, but never took the time to study them. My son-in-law has been trying to get me into oil, but have been reluctant to play the game. I have some very simple and fairly safe type of investments that do not make big money, but are predictable.;)

Jeffrey: Better keep a CO2 fire extinguisher handy to keep her cool. That thing is going to move some electrons.:D I'm proud for you:) .

Steve: Bet he thought she was moved by "...those danged ole teenagers!":D

Tom/Ray: Send some of that rain South. I sure hope we don't go into another drought like last year.

RAY: believe you got it made with the AP certificate.

Jeff,

I built every single computer when I owned my catalog business. That included a Novell Server, Linux Server and a MS server--30 plus computers in all. Don't do it anymore. Dells are just too cheap. My computers may be 6 months off the bleeding edge of technology, but I can't build them as cheap as Dell sells them.

(Right now I have 6 computers--My Novell Server followed me home. I have a MS home network with one computer serving as a file server. I'm going to add an old Pentium III from parts and set it up with Linux and a TV card to run my train stuff.)

Mornin' everyone!

Steve in your honor this morning I ordered Bacon! Good too!

Thanks Rex! Unless there is some technical problem it should go through easily. Harold Russell, MMR #14 is our Division AP Manager, I'm sure if there was any problem with it, he would have caught it before it got sent on to the Region as well. In fact he did have me change the documentation of several items as I was getting too complicated with it. The KISS principle still applies. I hope that by the end of Summer to have the requirements for the Scenery AP Cert. finished.

Jeffrey the liquid cooling is way cool. Macs started using that with the 3rd. generation G5s. It made them quieter and eliminated some fan problems that were showing up in the original design. I have a 2nd. generation G5 Mac about 4 years old now. Dual 1.8 64 bit processors with 2 gigs of Ram (upgradeable to 8 Gigs). I have it so that I can connect to around 2 Tbs of hard drive space. Still works faster than I can and has (knock on wood) never had any problems, so I will be hanging on to it for a few more years. Then I will get one of the new Pentium powered ones with 8 core processors and 32 Gigs of Ram........... I just gotta have that power you know. ;) :D

Chris my late Brother in Law used to live in Geneva, FL and had a small houseboat. The family used to camp out near the Cape and watch the launches from about 3 miles away. He used to say the heat from them could almost burn you at that distance. An awesome thing to experience!

Got to take my shower and get over to church to speak to a new members class and then get down to church camp for the rest of the day. See you all later!

Good afternoon folks

It is 81 F right now. It looks like it threatening rain. My wife just left the museum in Wilmington (Hockessin), DE and said it was raining.

The kids and I have been running all day. We hit the grocery store, the meat market, and the pet supply place. In between stops my son and I got haircuts. If the rain stays away I am going to paint one of our radiator covers now.

I have some photos I need to post over in the photo fun topic. Hopefully I can do it later.

I am trying to find some news about Mitchell’s Hobbies in Wilmington. My wife stopped there yesterday and they were closed due to a funeral. She stopped today and they were still closed. Two Fridays ago we drove by when they are normally open and they were closed. I hope we did not loose another LHS.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Ray I just had gammon and pineapple :)

Chris I just bought another tiger 1 with the metal tracks, gearbox and drive wheels,,,,, AHHHHHHHHH, now i'll have to upgrade the road wheels, suspension and brace the inside's as with the extra weight the body flex's some, it's a recommended procedure but well worth the work in the long term.

First, we lost Eric to a camera...now Steve to a tank:(. Steve, I guess you will need to switch to G scale to haul your tanks around the yard's battlefield. (Dang, that's a good idea!):D

Morning all.

We had a beautiful weekend of sunny 80F weather here. Spent some time out riding the bike, mowing the lawn, and got some golf in as well. Not too bad.

Remember a few months ago when I reported that our street was being torn up for repaving? Nine weeks ago? It's only about a .5 mile stretch and it is still not done and is really ticking me off. Having no access to my driveway means that I have to park on a side street and that gave some jackass the chance to back into my car some time this weekend and crush the driver's door. Then they took off so I have no idea who did it. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!
