Didn't get much done on the layout yesterday as I was at a party much of the day and didn't get home until after ten last night. I'll probably spend most of today recovering from that.

Mornin' everyone!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Finger Lakes. The high will be a pleasant 71°F (currents 69°). The kind of day that rates a "10" in these parts. Just opened up the windows in the house to get some fresh air.

Man am I sore this morning. Did way too much walking on rough ground yesterday at camp. Good for me though as I need to back into condition for summer camp. I'm off to start the lawn mower.... knew there had to be some down side of having a day like this...... May get the garden fence down and get prepared to run the rototiller as well.

Have a good one!

It is a lovely day in Colorado! Supposed to be 76 degrees this afternoon, which is terrific because I am heading off to the Rockies vs Mets game at Coors Field. I haven't been to a game since early last season, so this should be fun.
Hope y'alls weekend is going as well!

Man, I'm getting old--or at least out of shape. I moved my office to my home and my gym went out of business and I've been sitting and cogitating for a living. Now I go out and try to dig up some lawn to expand my vegetable garden, and I'd done after 1-2 hours. Year before last, I dug the whole first phase in a single day.

I gotta get a beer and workout in the basement building a saloon.

Chip I resemble that. I used to go out and mow the lawn (push rotary) in one sitting. It took about an hour and a half. Now I do it in three 45 min. sections......... I did get the D@mn thing mowed today though. I'm amazed that I got it done as I could barely walk when I got out of bed this morning (overdid at camp yesterday. I am flat footed and my ankles get very sore if I abuse them.) I even got the string trimmer to start and cleaned up around those places that the mower doesn't reach. So I'm going to celebrate with a couple dozen clams and a pitcher of whiskey sours. Care to join me?

I guess I should feel lucky, my body as fat and out of shape it is I can mow/yard work 8 hours. I get dehydrated easier and I get more tired at the end of the day........It might be because I enjoy it and I've done this type of work for 25 years. who knows?

Well, I hit it again and I got half of it done. I'm going out first thing in the morning and turn 10 bags of compost into it so the kids can hate me for making them plant potatoes and onions. Then with any luck, I'll get the other half done before the thunderstorms hit in the afternoon.

Funny, you plan like:

Sat: Cut out the grass, turn the soil, and plant the garden.
Sunday: Clear the garage, and set up the table saw and build the benchwork for the new layout.
Monday: Build the fence around the garden--have a weenie roast. See Indiana Jones.

What gets done:

Sat. Sun: Mon: Cut out the grass.

Chrisi ordered one of these

Good morning everyone.

Sunny and 70s today

Yesterday started out really well but, some nasty afternoon storms changed that. We had a few tornados touch down in and around the area with one of them going through a town about 25 miles West of where I am. Destroyed 100-200 houses and about one-third of the town is just gone. They are saying that every single building in town received damage of some sort. The town was also evacuated last night at about 8pm due to numerous anhydrous ammonia tanks being damaged and leaking.

I have some photos of the damage here in town that I'll try to get up later.

Mornin' everyone!

Philip nice to see you! You have been missed over here. Sounds like yesterday was a scary time. Hope no one was killed in those tornados. 2008 is becoming the year of tornado I think. Sure hope hurricanes don't try to catch up................

So far a beautiful day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 70°F with an expected high of 78°F later. They are also calling for some thunderboomers this afternoon and evening. A few storms could be severe. I'm going to try to get the garden rototilled today, so I better get to work.

Unfortunately Ray, there have been a few casualties from these storms and tornadoes. Officials are counting their blessings that there were so few and are grateful that the early warning systems worked as well as they did. Lots of campers and mobile homes were in the path of the storms yesterday and they all were reporting that they got out in time.

Chris What scale is that short circuit truck, it looks BIG or is it real.
Carl Saw the tornadoes on TV last night, some reporter got real close to a whopper near OK, that looked scary.

The Slash is 1/10th scale, It basicly rides on a rustler plate form they just change the supension arms a little and wheel and tire combo to give the stadium truck more of a scale look! The vid shows both the prototype racer and the model.....makes it hard to tell! You'll get a kick out of these Rock Crawlers http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58405 , this form of trail riding has been gaining more and more popularity in the RC crowed!
