Just thought I'd pop in for a quick cup of decafe before I head out to bed for the night. managed to get a lot done (or at least spend a lot of money) today. After I got done at school, I went to the LHS and bought a couple items, then to the drug store for a prescription. My cortisone cream for my psoriasis now retails for $417 for a 120mg tube....... Lucky my health insurance covers a lot of it. The other good thing is that a tube will last me 7 or 8 months. Then I went and bought some Moo Poo for the garden. That is the brand name, I think you can figure out what it is. Spread it out but haven't rototilled it in yet.
Got to spend most of the evening puttering in the train room on a couple of projects.
It's 73 and partly cloudy here. Thunderstorms are expected later. The high is expected to be in the upper 80's.
Progress on the park can be seen in the HO Scale board in 'The Park Project'. Today's Weather for:

It was a crisp 58 F this morning with bright sun. High today will be 71 F. It is a change from yesterday where the temperature according to the backyard thermometer was 87 F. We had some storms roll through last night. It was mostly rain with a few flashes of lightening and it lasted about an hour.
We took down the old basketball court. It actually was pretty easy to pull it down. The pole was embedded in the ground with a 5 gallon bucket of what looked like mortar mix; not concrete. The stuff crumbled to the touch. The pole had been leaning more and more every day so it had to come down before it fell down. We finished building the new court and put it in place. We got to shoot a couple of baskets and then the storm rolled in.
Tonight is our Cub Scout Pack Meeting and Arrow of Light and Crossover Ceremonies. I spent some of yesterday getting stuff ready for the meeting. I have to run to the Scout Store today since I discovered I am missing one award.
No modeling last night. I doubt we will have time tonight.
Supposed to be a little cool today, only 68 degrees, but thats OK. NO RAIN for a change! Seems strange, but last year at this time we were a month into that nasty drought, and this year we're above normal rainfall. Weather is a goofy thing, huh?
Morning ALL !! From sunshiny Western New York ! Lots of sun but still a bit cool this morning . Had to put the blanket on . Going up to 62 and gonna get up to 70 tomorrow. not much else going on around here except to take the garbage bin to the curb and pick it up. Exciting stuff not like the rest of the world . Well gotta get going and get some coffee. Hope you all have a nice day !!!!!!!
Been at school rehearsing for the concert tomorrow. Another gorgeous day here in the Finger Lakes. Exactly the weather that Paul described but two hours later............ Still that great time of year between turning off the heat and turning on the Air Conditioner.... I love it! I'm just afraid that when Summer hits it will be with a vengeance.
Have to be back at School soon, so I will see you all later!
Aaaaaahhhhhhh! The evening. The last part of the day was a very irritating rehearsal. Too many experts that think they know more than the sound man on how to run sound. One is a good friend of mine (music teacher) who walks on stage and decides to change the location of the amps so the chorus could hear the electric piano better (without asking me or the chorus director). Of course that also means that the mikes can also "hear" the piano better (when the accompanist is using her amp, you can hear her in the next county....). Then they want me to raise the volume of the chorus but I can't because those mikes are now picking up mostly piano..... They rearranged things and I relocated some mikes and it is back to a workable arrangement (I think...). This is the usual sound man argument with the (amateur) bands over the years I have worked with. "Turn up the vocals..... No turn down the guitar. No we just want more vocal. OK..... No don't turn up the guitar, just turn up the voice. Then you have to turn down the guitar. I don't want to turn down the guitar.... Then I can't give you more vocals you'll have to sing louder. Why? Because the mikes can't tell the difference between your guitar and your voice! Now turn down the D@mn Guitar!" (BTW the guy moving things around is a member of a nationally known Jazz group that has several CDs out. He plays professionally most every weekend. I won't say his name or the band here.)
Amazing how they know what they want but will work completely against you to achieve that. To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy. What's the sense of having 5000 watts if ya ain't gonna use 'em all! Oh well sorry for the rant, but it turned out to be one of those days.
I can't for the life of me see myself working with musicians let alone, young ones. One of the hardest things I have to do is attend my son's performances. They stuck him in choir (he's autistic and I pretty sure he's just mouthing the words.) But I go for him. And to do it I have to sit through the elementary band. It's hard on my sensibilities.

Caught break today. I had a cancellation. I can use the cash, but the timing was good. Nice day. I got back in the garden and got most of the rest of the grass torn up. I turned in the rest of the compost. (need 8 more bags) and got the 'maters planted. I might just get the fence up before the beans sprout. Blanking wabbits.
The temperature here in the Sportsman's Paradise is a pleasant 71. We're expecting a high of 90 today with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of thunderstorms.
I've decided to remove the mailbox from the park and put it over at Smith's gas station. Seems to be a better place for it. Today's Weather for:

53 F and a lot of sun greeted me on the way to the office this morning. High will be 77 F.
We had a great Cub Scout Pack Meeting, Arrow of Light, and Crossover Ceremony last night. We had a great turnout and everyone liked the ceremony we performed. We didn’t just throw the awards at the kids as had been done it the past. We treated the awards with the respect that the highest award that a Cub Scout can earn should be treated with. We had a great turnout and were missing only three of our scouts. We had about 12 Boy Scouts and 3 leaders from the Boy Scout Troop that our boys were crossing over to as part of the ceremony.
Good morning folks. I'm moving on Saturday, so I'm one bit closer to actually building a layout. I had a funny thing happen yesterday. My new employer is contributing to an IRA as part of my wages. The company they use is UBS. I had to go to their offices to fill out the proper paperwork. Guess where their office is located, the old Depot I'm modeling. Well, that was fine by me! Unfortunately, the entire interior has been remodeled so I couldn't see how it was layed out. I asked if they had any photos displayed of the former interior. Nope, nobody thought of doing that. Oh well, it was still kind of cool. While I was signing papers a train went past the window. He apologized for the noise. I told him that it was no bother at all! Well, one more day of work at the new job and then I'm off until Tuesday. I hate moving! I hope everyone has a good day.
Looks to be another beautiful day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 60°F with a high of 72°. Clear and sunny with a 10 to 20 mph wind out of the West.
I will be off for the last round of rehearsals today. Concert is tonight.
Tom, my congratulations and thank you from one Scouter to another on your work with the pack. I would love to be your commissioner! Looks like the positive changes you have done are finally showing in the Pack.
Corey it seems that scenario repeats itself time and time again..... There seems to be very few photos of railroad property from the 1920s where I live. Those that do exist were actually photographing something else near the railroad. Good luck with the move!
