Ummm, boy! I would love to be stretched out on that beach right now. ;)

What's neat about that beach is right now the water is in the 70's and the scallops are good to eat right now(No red tide)! although is considered pouching and illegal to collect scallops this time of year and any farther south than citrus county, it hard to resist picking them up and taking home 4 or 5 dozen or more Mmmmmmmmmmm! You got's fishing, swimming, and laying in the sand all in the same place!:D

the temp here has dropped 15 to 20 drgrees in the last 2 hours. Man where did summer go. It really feels cold out there even though it was colder four days ago. Oh well it is far better than that cold white stuff. I would have said it but I gave up four letter words for the summer.

I'll try to send some summer weather up there! ;)

Here's the clear water beach cam shots!

So here I am. Hello, is anyone there? Is anyone out there?
I have been out enjoying the perfect weather with 72 degrees and a clear sky. Think I will go play with my train set. Nope, can't do that; my command module is at Digitrax. I know, I will get the jackhammer out and go back to work on my yard relocation.

:) I hope all are having a very good day. :)

Hi, Guys,
It''s been along, busy day, with church in the morning, a luncheon for number two's high school graduation, then another ceremony for her at church this evening. It was really nice though, with a slide show that was put together from pictures my wife e-mailed to the youth pastor, who put everything together. Then, we ate again. :) I'm going to look like Jabba the Hut soon with all this down home cooking but it sure was good. Beautiful weather witha high of 85 and low humidity. The storm Saturday wimped out in terms of severe weather, thank goodness, but we did get almost an inch of rain. Haven't even run a train in two weeks let alone get any work done on the layout and this coming week I'm going to be spending a bunch of time getting number one ready for college. Boy, am I glad I'm retired so I have a lot of free time. :D

Good morning folks! I was successful in my first ebay bid! Somebody tried to snipe it in the last twenty seconds. Apparently, they didn't know how bad I needed this kit! My highest bid was way higher than theirs. I resent the fact that they cost me an extra six dollars though. I guess it's all part of the fun! I also figured out how to build my other signature building using two DPM M.T. Arms hotels. The hotel I'm building is square with a small, square courtyard in the middle. I'll be using the four large walls from the two kits for the exterior, then the four shorter walls in the interior to form the courtyard. It will be a little larger than I had planned for in my plan, but I can adjust for it now.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning folks

It is bright 58 F this morning heading to 72 F.

I am home today. My FIL came home yesterday and I have to drop the van off at the shop to have the brakes looked at this morning. Speaking of my FIL he seems to be much better. He does not remember anything that happened Tuesday the day before, and Wednesday the day the stroke happened. He remembers waking up in the hospital Thursday morning and could not figure out why they kept asking him his name. He could not remember it on Wednesday. The only problem with his coming home is how it happened. We spoke with the doctor on Friday and she said he would not be coming home until Monday of Tuesday. Since we had this knowledge we went with my son’s Cub Scout Pack on Saturday. When we got home there was a message on the answering machine to pick up my FIL at 1:30 PM. The message was left at 12:45. When my wife called back she found that a different doctor discharged him. My wife asked to speak to the doctor and was told he would call. It took three calls from the hospital social worker to get him to call my wife. When we finally spoke with him he was ignorant and rude. He could not tell us anything useful. He accused my FIL of not losing weight (He has lost 60 pounds over the last three years), of not watching what he eats, and host of other things. Basically he said that my FIL has diabetes and had the stroke because he is fat. No mention of his family history of diabetes (three generations) or heart disease. Now this is the same doctor who also killed my FIL three years ago when he misdiagnosed my FIL having pneumonia. Three days after seeing this so-called doctor my FIL was in a coma. Also he told us that he had new medications to take. When we checked with the hospital we found that there were no prescriptions written for these meds for my FIL to take home. So after working with the hospital social worker we decided to bring him home on Sunday so as to give her time to track down everything he should have when he left the hospital.

As I said earlier we took my son’s Cub Scout Pack to the local zoo on Saturday. The boys had raised money during the year to adopt the Bald Eagle and on Saturday they got a talk with the keeper along with a visiting the zoo.

No modeling got done because of all the other stuff happening.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' eveyone!

It is a beautiful sunny day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 55°F with a high this afternoon of 66°. My kind of day. Don't have to run the furnace and don't have to run the Air Conditioner...... Hopefully I will get a chance to finish mowing the lawn and get some other errands done before I help my son move some furniture around. He and his wife are getting ready to put their house up on the market and had the realtor come over to give them suggestions. She told them make half of their furniture disappear and clean the house....... (Like Father, like son...)

Tom good to hear that your FIL is doing better and is back home. They can do wonderful things to help stroke victims if they are seen early on. I do hope your family will be making a formal compliant to the hospital administration about the Dr. that you spoke of.

The Board of Deacons at my church had their annual Ziti Dinner and Talent Show to support the Pastor's Discretionary Fund last night. The young man who has been the Master of Ceremonies for the last several years was not able to do it due to a conflict, so I was asked to be the MC. I had fun! Got to do a lot of my old Victor Borge routines and all the other nonsense I used to do when I was teaching (Middle Schoolers learn best when you have their attention and humor was the most enjoyable way to get that....) Anyway the evening was a success. And.... I got use my new Guitar as I played along with my Minister on a few old favorites at the end of the evening.

Have a good day!

Rex, Ray How ya'll doing today,, it's fine and sunny,, no it's raining,,, no it's sunny again today, just washed the kids rabbit in a bucket, that was fun, she did NOT like that one bit.

Happy Monday all!

Morning Jeff! How's things in the bayou country?

Jim, how many times before we retired did we say, "I have to go back to work just to rest up from being off." Well, we didn't learn anything, did we? :D

Ray, I don't envy your son. After your house gets all sparkly and perfect for the show, you never feel comfortable with it not having that good'ole "lived-in" feeling. You're almost afraid to dirty a plate.

Tom, weekend coverage for Doctors is always the pits. If it wasn't your FIL's regular doctor that messed things up, make a complaint to him. More than likely, he was out on the "greens". Usually around here they will say that you probably can be released tomorrow. So, you may wait around all morning and part of the afternoon waiting. When you are about to give up, a nurse pops in and says, " OK, you are being released now."

Steve, bathing a rabbit! That must have been a wrestling match. :D

Afternoon, Everyone.

Tom, since you have previous experience with that incompetent doctor, you can have a written directive as part of your FIL's living will that this idiot is not to provide medical care for him. You essentially fire him, the same way you would any member of a project team that's not doing things in your best interest. Blaming the patient is always counter-productive and is the sign of a passive-aggressive personality that makes for a bad doctor. A stroke finally makes sense as a diagnosis though. I really would urge you to see if he can get an open MRI done since that will give you all a much better idea of what damage this stroke may have caused and how likely is another, possibly fatal, stoke in the future.

Paul, I hope the doc didn't chew you out too bad. Sometimes you just gotta have a little fun. :) Thanks for the congrats on my daughter. She's not only smart as a whip, she's also beautiful. Where were all the girls like her when I was 18?

Corey, glad you won your bid on e-bay. I always bid the max I'm willing to pay. If a sniper comes in at the last minute and drives the price up to more than I'm willing to pay, it's his. If not, yes, I do pay more than the previous high bid but I know I paid what the market thought it was worth. Did you ever see a picture of the Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield , Nevada? This is what it looks like:
goldfieldd7.jpg

Sounds like it's similar in construction to what you are trying to do.

Steve, you washed a rabbit? I just paid our vet $25 to wash our cat because he would rip the living cr*p out of me if I tried dunk him in a bucket. I hope rabbits aren't as mean.

Ray, I went through that "Staging" stuff when I sold my house too. Assuming the house is reasonably neat and clean to begin with, I'm not convinced that all that work does much good. Clutter is bad but I think prospective buyers want to get an idea of how livable the house is. All I know is a neighbor down the street paid a staging company $4,000 to fix their house up for sale and I just threw some of my extra junk in closets and had the carpets cleaned. My house sold for $5,000 more than theirs and it sold before their house. Identical models otherwise. They weren't very happy when I left. :0 Sounds like you had a great time at church. I had five minutes to give a summary of my daughter's life and our life together for the last two years. I officially adopted her last month. I told the crowd that she thinks I did it because I love her but I actually just needed the tax deduction. :)

Rex, there have been times I've looked longingly at my motorhome sitting in the driveway and wonder why I ever stopped here. I did have a lot more free time by myself, on the road, but I would also have not have had a second loving family like I do now. There's a plan for everything and I just try to go with the flow. However, I'm taking a nap this afternoon come hell or high water. :)

Another beautiful day in the Heart of Dixie with a temperature of 85 but the humidity is only 25%. The low last night was 51. Almost no mosquito's so far this year too. If it stayed like this the rest of the summer, this place would be like paradise. Unfortunately, June is around the corner and these pleasant days will be a thing of the past for the next four months. No rain on tap here but hoping for more toward the end of the week.
