Good morning gentlemen! We are at the dawn of the SECOND nice day in a row! Seventy five and partly cloudy. It doesn't get any better than that!

I'm in the process of setting up my new store. Well, it's not mine, but I am in charge of it. I came to town last week for an interview and haven't left yet. The guy I work for just finished having a new store built, so it needs to be set up for business. The old manager doesn't want anything to do with this process. He spent thirty five years in the old store and is on cruise control for his last five days. I don't blame the guy. Personally, I think he's been on cruise control for the last ten years as far as I can tell.

My wife is in a chipper mood these days. I don't know if it's because I'm actually getting paid to work, or if it's moving back to our family. I don't care, as long as she's happy. Happy wife, happy life! She's even giving me a tentative green light on an around the walls layout OVER her work space. We'll see if that works out or not!

I hope everyone has a good day. How could you not, it's May, the best month of the year.

Good morning folks

It was 52 F as I headed out on the highway in the van with new brakes. High today will be 76 F.

I had the van in the shop yesterday for new brakes, so the modeling budget took a hit. My FIL is doing well. He is occasionally slurring his speech and he has some holes in his memory.

I did get to run some trains yesterday and tidy up the layout a little bit.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for my FIL. I believe they helped. As far as the doctor goes, my father and wife go to a practice that consists of 4 doctors, and 3 nurse practitioners. They like two of the doctors and all the practitioners. One of the doctors is new so they don’t know anything about him. And then there is the idiot. My wife is taking my FIL to see one of the practitioners this afternoon. She will also be speaking with the office manager regarding what happened with the one doctor. Funny thing happened yesterday while my wife had my FIL out, the doctor’s office called wanting to know if the bad doctor had returned my wife’s call from Friday. I explained to them he had not. They were also unaware that the doctor had discharged my FIL. I explained what happened and the person told me to tell my wife to make sure she spoke with the office manager. Makes you wonder.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning Bill , Chris , Corey & Tom, Another beautiful day here in Western New York ! went to the Diabetes Doctor yesterday and it went really well , lost three pounds since last visit and my blood work was all in order. Tom I smell a law suit . I would definetly tell that office no more oof that doctor . You have rights as a patient to refuse a doctor's care and that is one doctor I would stay clear of. Well I'm gonna go sit on the patio with my coffee and try to figure out what to do outside . Gope you all have a real nice day !!!

A great morning to all of you today.

I had a pretty crazy weekend that spilled over into yesterday a bit. There were some mountain bike races this past weekend that I help out with each year and that filled my weekend to the brim. We had great weather and lots of smiling racers so that was good in my book.

Work was insane busy yesterday, hardly had time to breathe at times. All caught up today so now I can relax a little bit.

My wife received a job promotion on Friday so she is sitting on cloud 9 right now. She's been working pretty hard for it so it was great to see it all pay off.

A fellow local modeler is clearing out some of his collection to make room for more so I agreed to buy up his CNW line of five locomotives. Picked up a P2K SD60 with decoder for $45. Very little run time on any of them. I'll be getting the other four as the train budget allows.

I also ordered up a Pikestuff Yard Office for my freight yard. That should help to finalize my track placement and I can start to permanently lay track. :D

Have a fantastic day.

Afternoon Coffee Shop Patrons!

I am ready for a nap I think.... Had to be the High School at 10 this morning to go over the transcripts and recommendations from the School Guidance Councilors for the applicants for the Martin Lither King Scholarships we give each year. We have 9 fantastic kids asking for a scholarship this year. Then had to do some banking and shopping around downtown. This afternoon I had my 6 month recheck and camp physical at my Doctors. Wish mine was a good as Paul's...... Blood sugar was up, cholesterol was up, weight was up, Blood pressure was OK. Well one out of four isn't always bad. All were in the "borderline" area so I have 6 months to get them back in line or I will start more medicines. Got to spend less time in front of the computer I think?

Carl congrats on your wife's promotion!

Tom, hope all gets straightened out with the medical group! At very least, I would insist that your FIL has no further dealings with that particular Dr. Keep a written account of everything that has happened, and copy your lawyer (at the bottom of every letter put cc: lawyer's Name, esq.) It can have a very positive effect on dealing with medical crap. Don't ask how I know that. ;) ;) :D

Evening, Everyone.

Looks like great beach weather in Florida already, Chris.

Corey, two nice days in a row is some kind of record up you neck of the woods, isn't it? :) Nice to hear your wife got a raise. She's a lucky person with so many others being laid off now.

Paul, glad to hear things went well wiht your diabetes doc.

Tom, after spending two years practically at war with Kaiser for their treatment of my late wife, who was a Kaiser nurse, no less, nothing surpises me any longer. I always assume every doctor is incompetent and every hospital gives lousy care until proven otherwise. That may sound cynical but, believe me, it's the voice of experience talking. The bigger pain in the a** you are to that medical group, the better chance you have that someone will at least double check what the other nitwit did.

Jeffrey, summer is returning to the South, at least here. We had a high of 90 toaday and no hope of rain until at least Thursday.

Carl, somehow mountain bike racing in Iowa sounds like an oxymoron. :D Sounds like you had a good time though. Looks like you lucked into some nice C&NW power too.

Ray, three out of four isn't bad....it's just not good. :( Get your weight back under control and I'll bet your blood sugar and cholesterol also come back down. If you're like me, the time at the computer's not the problem, it's amount of stuff I eat while sitting at the computer that puts on the tonnage. :)

Just spent the day fixing stuff around the house. Every light switch and door lock seemed to break at once. I think it's planned obsolesence.

Jim, I went in to work with clear skies, two hours later it was raining. So much for the record. Honestly though, May is usually a perfect time of year around here. We get two good months, May and September. Seventy five and sunny is the usual. As for the rest, it's not the best climate to live in!

Yea, we get that quite a bit. :D It's not as flat as everyone thinks it is though. No long climbs like one would have in the mountain states but, short steep climbs that still hurt. It is still a lot of fun though. :)

Corey, nice to hear you're going to get some layout space. That last layout was shaping up nicely.

I haven't been around much lately, just 5 minutes here and there. My practice has taken off finally, and now that I have an inflow of cash, I don't have time to spit. I have a small fleet of N-scale locos, but nowhere to drive them. I had to get someone to mow my lawn--something I never thought I'd do. One of those pride of ownership things.

Anyway, my first ebook, The EFT Quick-Start Method has taken off and has now been translated into French and Chinese, and by the end of summer will have been translated into German and Italian. The second book, The Born Loser's Guide to Abundance, came out last month and since then I have been booked solid with clients.

Right now, I'm still trying to adjust to my workload. Sunday night, I cracked open a Campbell's Scarlet Slipper Saloon for the new Rock Ridge 1891 layout. It was pure heaven.

If you want flat, try Kansas. I never really believed the stories about how flat it is until I drove through it. I could see for miles and miles.

Good morning.

Today's project will be weathering a Bachmann tank car. I'll get some before and after shots for comparison.

Good morning everyone.

Overcast and damp this morning, we had a couple of thunderstorms roll through last night and dump some more water on us. I think that it is actually getting back to normal though so there was no flooding. :)

The IANR dropped off some hoppers at one of the local COOPs yesterday so I snapped a couple of shots. We have a lot of ex-CNW hoppers around here that have been repatched for the IANR.

Good Morning ! Looks like one more nice day around here before it starts to turn sour. Not much else going on except for spring cleaning . Carl congratulations to your wife on her promotion ! Chip congratulations on your new found success !Carl some nice looking examples of a good old line in reuse today . Well gotta get out of here so wishing everyone a real good day !!

Good morning folks

It was a chilly 54 F as I stepped out the door on my way to the office. We are supposed to go up to 81 F today with some clouds. Then it is downhill from there with showers and thunderstorms moving in tonight and through tomorrow.

My FIL is doing well. His doctor visit went well and my wife spoke with the office about our experience with the bad doctor. We have to get copies of his records from the hospital so we can send them to the VA so that he can get his new maintenance medications through them. I have to call the township and complain about our neighbor’s yard and its three foot high grass. The people who own the property purchased it two years ago with the idea that their jobs would be transferred to our area. They would visit on weekends and most of the summer. However, the jobs never materialized and they put the property up for sale about two months ago. They were here a couple of weeks back and cleaned up some things but did not cut the grass. The realtor apparently doesn’t care because who is going to look at a house with 3 foot high grass in the front yard.

Tonight will be busy. My daughter has flute recital practice and then we have Cub Scout Den Meetings.

I got out my next project. I am going to weather two PRR Walthers USRA gondolas, and a C&O and NYC PK1 USRA 50-Ton Drop Bottom Composite Gondolas. I need to change put the couplers on the Walthers gons. Then I will start with weathering the wheels and trucks.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' everyone!

Middle School Band concert went well last night. Now I have to get in touch with the High School Band teacher to see what he will need for sound next week at his concert. Hope to get more wood split and stacked today before the "heavy dew" appears this evening. I also have two meetings to got to today. SciTek Camp (Scouts) and Deacons at church.

So I best get going and try to accomplish something today.
