Good morning folks! I'm starting to get the urge to model again. Knowing that I'm suppose to move in a few weeks has me thinking about trains again. I know that summer is not typically the peak season to play trains, but I've been arm chairing it for a few months now. I was actually starting to lose interest for awhile (I know, blasphemy!).
I found a second Walthers station kit on ebay to hopefully get me started on my new layout's center piece. I hope nobody is interested in this kit, we'll see.
Isn't it funny how you can be all set to move one direction in life, then life takes a completely different path? While waiting to move to the Minneapolis area for a job, I've been helping a guy in my hometown with a moving sale at his clothing store. This was suppose to be a temporary gig to help him and make some money on the side. Well, he called me yesterday with the news that his manager of thirty-five years is calling it quits. He would like to offer me the position if I'm interested. At first I was not interested in moving back to my home town of fifty thousand people, then I started to think about the advantages of such a move. Lower cost of living with same pay as metro area. No forty-five minute commute. Better schools for future rug rats. Close to family for babysitting said rug rats. I would also be in a position to buy this store when the owner retires in ten years. I don't see why I wouldn't take the job. I actually have an interview for the first job tomorrow. I'm only going to it to make sure I'm not missing anything great in the Metro area store.
Not that you guys care too much about any of this, but I had to share. I made you listen to me about my financial woes last year, so this is good news.
I also talked the misses into a THREE BEDROOM townhouse when we move. That means: one bedroom for sleeping(or whatever), one bedroom for guests, and ........one bedroom for TRAINS! We will also be doubling our household income, so there may actually be money for trains.
Anyway, I hope you fine gents have a good day. The sun is shining, and my mother is taking me out tonight for my birthday prime rib!
