Quite a bargain!Found a place that buys and sells model trains etc…
I got this for $3.
Quite a bargain!
You did a great job turning it in to a great little structure!
That's going to be a great looking scene! Finally got the culvert scene started. Hope I can get some plaster cloth tomorrow
You can blend Sculptamold over that tape and it's less messy than the plaster cloth, in small areas.
Happy Holidays my friend!Happy Holidays, everyone
I enjoy all the updates. Keep up the splendid work.I post minor updates because if I only post major updates you’ll only hear from me once a year at best
I bought a 25# box 7-8 years ago from an online art supply.Went to two hobby shops and couldn’t get any Sculp-ta-mold so no work on the culvert scene. I got some more styrene and did a little more on the elevated city scene

Thanks. Yes going to have to get it online. It would be nice if it arrived by next weekendI bought a 25# box 7-8 years ago from an online art supply.
I know you can get 3# bagto50# boxes from Amazon, Yankee Dabbler, Blick Art, etc.
Its a shame to see this dismantled, but on the other hand it will be equally fun to watch what the new layout brings.Well, the last update about this layout has been postedSorry, this post is longer than I usually post.
I've had trouble with some of my Peco Electrofrog turnouts and don't know if I should modify them, go with Insulfrog or another manufacturer. In fact some of you may have seen my post inquiring about Peco Insulfrog over in "HO scale".
Whatever I decide about turnouts, turnouts aren't the only problem. While I'm very satisfied with the concept of my track plan I regret the exact placement of things like track center line spacing in places and the mainline distance from the edge to allow for background building industries.
My sliding door needs to be replaced so I need to remove at least 3 sections of the layout for that in the Spring. I've been thinking about this for weeks and have concluded that if I build this layout to completion I'm unlikely to live long enough to build another one to completion (at the rate I'm going). I have spent most of the day dismantling the layout and salvaging everything I can from it. I will continue tomorrow and should be close to an empty room by the end of the day.
I have learned a lot building this layout and while a little disappointed I'm very excited to start again and will start a new thread when I do. I plan to start some bench work that is not in the way of the aforementioned door sometime next month
Thanks to you all for following![]()
Well I don’t know how great they are but definitelyHope you will incorporate your great urban structures into it!
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but I think that makes sense. One would be on the outside and the other on the inside so at any point in the curve the outside would be higher than the inside (I think). Maybe you could make something out of foam or wood?Even using woodland inclines side by side led to an issue. They don’t have the same height as you curve
That’s exactly what happened, and yes I could do something else but then that’s a waste of what I purchased sadly….I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but I think that makes sense. Yeah, as someone relatively new to the hobby that has happened to me a few times. It's discouraging but for me it seems unavoidableThat’s exactly what happened, and yes I could do something else but then that’s a waste of what I purchased sadly….
