A beginner's layout

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I feel your pain PMW, everything I attempt to do leads to another issue. Even using woodland inclines side by side led to an issue. They don’t have the same height as you curve…..and they are not easy to stretch/compress….hence zero progress
I've used WS inclines on two separate layouts. Both times had less than acceptable results. The second time I figured out that I needed to cover the top surface with blue painters tape before laying track and trying to ballast it.

There are easier and less frustrating ways to make a grade....like we did before WS. ;)

I think you are right on this one.
