I have a friend who is starting a new hobby shop business. hes thinking in ordering a special runs of VIA rail P42. Just asking, how much of you could be interested in ordering one ? They would be likely athearn RTR dcc ready.
i don't model VIA. for someone who has 0 equipment it will need to be a package (or at least possibility for one) of loco and matching cars. and its new so not going to be any special of a deal but rather full price. i would would skip it, if only since its not discounted.
The price would be ~100$, like all athearn RTR engines
But Via is a public compagny, and they never refused license to MRR stuff.
the last time there was a run of via p42, it was an order from a vancouvert hobby shop
Yes it is true with public companies. My LHS has a special run of RTR cascade's F59PHI's and you knw athrean hasn't produce any in a long time. And they only goin for $40 each
I got to personaly got to layout all the real decals for the real engines when GE produced them in Erie, PA. The small graphics company I worked for produced the decals for the units. All the striping, lettering ect are hand laid out on a table with markings on it to align them, then a special masking tape is applied over the whole logo in sections to keep them all in place till they are applied to the locomotive. I would love to have one in road number 911 to display on my mantle. Mikie
