ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
It keeps getting pushed back because there isn't much interest in that model. I asked for a sound sample and was told that they haven't even begun tooling the model yet.
It was a bad idea for them to announce an SW1500 with sound so soon after Athearn started releasing their RTR ones. BLI has a reputation for molded on grills anyway, so people would prefer the Athearn with the etched metal mesh grill to the BLI's molded on grill. The C30-7s that BLI came out with were shelf queens and all future runs of that model have been cancelled. (not to mention that Atlas made a better model)
I really don't believe in what BLI posts anymore about future releases. I'm more inclined to think that is thier way of doing market research by counting the responses of interest.
You can say that again. They announced another run of AC6000s, but slapped on GEVO paint schemes and road numbers and claimed that they were authentic. Puh-leeze! BNSF never owned any AC6000s!
