What gauge wire do I need?

Ok fellas I have used up the last of my cutoffs and now need to buy wire to wire up my locomotive and DCC controlled rolling stock. What gauge should I get

Is this bus wire, or feeder wires.? How large is the layout?

We need a little more info on what your setup is. Once we have more info, then we can better assist you in making a drtermination on what wire gauge to use.

In need it for wiring my locomotive and decoders
 
I wouldn't recommend magnetic (enameled) wire for wiring up decoders and DCC rolling stock. The insulation is far too thin to adequately insulate the wire from minor scratches or scuffs against metal frame members and the like, and thereby shorting out and frying your expensive decoders. This stuff is mainly meant for winding coils used in electromagnetic devices such as transformers, motors, relays, magnets, inductors, solenoids, and other such electrical devices.
