Hey Jeffrey,

Check this out, announced today by Bachmann at the NMRA:

I captured a screen shot from their new product announcement brochure they posted on Facebook.

I'm trying to lay code 55 rail with MicroEngineering "micro" size spikes, and to be honest it isn't going very well. The spikes are almost invisible; they're also made of some kind of peanut-butter alloy with zero strength, so I had to make up a special tool to pre-punch holes for them, as in the second picture. I got enough track down to run a car back and forth a few inches, but if I continue with this it's gonna kill me. Yes, that car has "semi-scale" wheels. It seems appropriate if I'm going to slave over the track like this. Time for a rethink, methinks.

Grampy: That's a great shot you did there.

John: Those tiny spikes are murder. That's one of the reasons I avoid doing hand laid track anymore.

I looked at that TT today also. Looks like it's only for short engines & the $140.00 price is kind of steep, don't you think.

All of Bachmann's DCC track accessories are on the expensive side. Have you priced one of their DCC crossovers lately? $73, though Walther's has them on sale right now for $49.98.

We have a very nice collection of imagery and displayed modeling and weathering started for this WPF, fellas. :D

A farmer won a brief delay to this train leaving Seneca Falls so that he could quickly roll four barrels of vinegar into a boxcar. The vinegar is a special kind of his used by a customer 150 miles away who needs it tonight.

With the extra revenue for a rush delivery he should be able to fix those windows ;) (neat detail!)

I did code 100 with shinohara spikes. They had a good point on them, but I still had trouble that I traced to the wood glue I used to put the ties down. The spike would go through the tie, then hit the glue and bend. This caused 'Blue Air' in the RR room. I did get pretty good at hand laying track after a while, and it's amazing how fast it can go for the amount of work it takes. If you keep at it, you'll get pretty good, and I think (for me) the look was better, as I was going for a lighter rail for rural lines rather than main line hi rail.

The pre punch thing is a great idea.

Here's the latest out of the workshop. It's an older atlas I bought off of Larry. I got a high nose kit and chop the old nose off. Those high nose kit are a PITA...

Very nice Gents!
I managed a little time to railfan down at the Spencer East Shops.
Found the boys servicing an old crane:

Nice pictures so far everyone.

Here is a quick pick of the trestle area with a few trees. I still have to add the actual road. Now that I look at it, I need to dirty up the bridge piers as well.:)
