Got me a late Christmas gift this morning. An Athearn GP38-2.
Nice Jeffrey. Here's a tunnel shot.
Nice start to the weekend Jeffrey and Grampy!
About all I have to show right now is the start of the platform for my "temporary" Freight House at Hopewell Junction. The platform is scratch built from scale lumber, board by board construction. Unfortunately, I am now out of 1" x 4" lumber so I am waiting on the mill to ship me a load more so I can get this part of it finished. The interior will be detailed and lighted as well.
Jeffrey, nice locomotive. I'll kill you if you repaint it.
Gramps, great scene in the tunnel. How did you do it?
Ray, nice platform and really nice coloring on the wood.
Thanks Jim. The back side of the tunnel is in staging and I left one side off, and stuck the camera in the tunnel, and took the shot.

The shell is quite safe. I installed a Bachmann 1 amp decoder in the loco and swapped out the shell with one that was already painted for the MGRy. The UP shell is on the old GP38-2 frame which is in my display case. It's dead-lined because of a cracked frame.
Smoke, nice paint job indeed. Is it just me or should there be more grab irons on the nose?

well at least your not gonna repaint...whew!
Something new, this is the first building from the Deadwood Smelter that I am building as a possible entry into next years Narrow Gauge Convention's model contest. Piece is built with full studs and rafters and is even complete to the nailers under the individually applied shingles. The hole in the shingles and the loose/missing boards allow the interior features to be seen. Note also that the sides and rear did not have any exterior sheathing on the prototype. I am building this piece off of a single photo of the prototype.

MD, you are the world's fastest wood cutter.

Darn nice work so far. Are planning on doing the whole smelter? That would take me the rest of my natural lifetime.
Jeffrey, nice atmospheric shot.

It's just you.

Most modern low nose "standard" cab units have just two.
today has been the first chance to do anything after the Christmas festivities.
I have swapped the trees for some that look a bit better.
Added more bushes.
Bought a 153 DMU with some Christmas money from my Parents (thanks Dad)
Fitted people in the 153, and weathered it.
Put some rail down between the tracks at the front.
and brought the floodlight in from the shed to get some better pictures.

Thats Brilliant work John
Just finished up some electrical work on the layout. Installed the Power Cab that I just recieved for Christmas and installed a power switch for it.

Actaully both of you are right.

There are only supposed to be two grabs on the nose, but there is one on the side that is not in the picture.

Airslide, looks like the one I built a while back.
