Extra extra!

Read all about it!:D

I have added a new loco to my roster ready for service!
UP #8070 SD40-2

She was rebuilt by my back shop and outsourced for custom paint & details.
My back shop is not quite there yet to do its own paint but can do some minor detail and most motor rebuilds including the adding of up to date techno equip. (DCC);)

Here we are ready for duty! The first day out some one forgot to move a certain item out of harms way and did minor dammage to the snowplow. Hmmm...hopefully we wont have that as a curse or omen...?:(

also I have found out this prototype unit has been re-numbered or placed out of service not sure which though because another unit 8070 a SD90MAC has taken this road number a while ago but until my MRR receives this "new" replacement this SD40-2 will be in service...:D

Unless there was two SD40-2 with the same serial # this is it

776013-6 776013-6 SD40-2 5/1977 UP 8070 UP 3405(SD40-2)
8070 May 1977 776013-6 Renumbered to 3405 in March 1982.

UP 8065-8074 were renumbered to 3400-3409 between June 1980 and March 1982; originally to be delivered as UP 3400-3409, but in late April 1977, UP asked EMD to deliver the units with 8000-series numbers.

Try a Google search that's where I got all of this and there's much more.

Cheers Willis
