Hello all...I'm new to this forum and model RR. I'm volunteering at our local depot restoring a 70's model RR set. I noticed these parts and I have no idea what they are or what they were used for. Can anyone help identify these parts for me?

Never seen anything like them. Do they have any markings or anything? Can you get the cases open?

Also, welcome to the forum. :)

It would help if you laid a quarter next to them, or something to judge size.

They look like some circuit that has been "potted", but it could be anything.

Based on the two white wires and red and black at the opposite end, I'm saying it could be a bridge rectifier. Two same-color wires indicate a circuit without polarity sensitivity, while red and black generally indicate plus and minus.

A relay would generally be "don't care" for coil and contact polarity, although solid state relays are polarity sensitive on the trigger. I could measure them with an ohmmeter and tell what they are, but I'm way over here. :-)
