Ok, I figured out how to beat Murphy and moved the tunnel to the other side of the track so it will be easily accessible. I am still working on the layout and covering it. I will send pics soon...
My next question…I want to add a second track to the layout and I want it to go up and run next the tunnel I have in place now. My thought is to build the tunnel up I have into a mountain and the second track will run up next to it (about 3" or so above the ground) and look like it has climbed the mountain to get around it. If I was to build it up with MDF what rise should I have from the bottom to the top of the lift? Sorry if I am not explaining it clearly enough.
