I got tired of screwing around with the trestle so i made the mountain. Got it all plastered and waiting for scenery. This mountain will be removable to access the train track under it. Not sure how i want to attack the trestle yet. Am tired of working on it. I would just love it to just be done. Those can be such a PITA!!! Shots below Laters

I just can't get the trestle to play nice no matter what i do. I thought i could just add to the old trestle but it just isn't working out. I started to build a new trestle last night. Making new bents is something i forgot how to do. That could be why am having the issues with the old trestle. i have two others on the layout and look fine. Just this big one. I never made one this big before. Its 21 inches long. Have one shot of the new one started. Guess it will be buying a mess of more basswood. Laters

Made my template for the bents and made one to make sure it is good. Now i need to get more basswood for the bents i need to build. The only place to get basswood here in town is Hobby Lobby. fun...

More of the fun. Not the best but making some progress with it. I have to build it one or two bents at a time to help with the terrain. The biggest ones are installed. 4 inches and then is drops down to 3.25 inches and next i will put the trestle in place to see what height it will be. Shots below.

Looks great Smokey!
I did one in styrene a while back but wood really shows more character.
Going to look fantastic with a train creeping over it!

Thanks Rico. Waiting for track to get here. I need to get the river ready as well. Thanks again, Smoke

Ok, It is done! Track installed and all set down and glued in place. Shots below.

Looks great. I like how it crosses over the track underneath at an angle. Had a similar design on my first layout that I never quite finished. My dad might attempt to finish it though. Nice work.

I couldn't get to sleep so i started doing some of the plaster cloth. I got to a part where i needed the cloth to dry before i could lay down another coat. So, Today i got into it again. its coming along. Just touch up and or building the framework for the plaster cloth to form correctly. Have two from last night and two from today. Looks like snow right now..hehe

I have been at it again. I've been" Working on the mountains..." its slow work. i keep finding places that i missed when putting the plaster down before. The mountain on the right side is being a very hard thing to get back together. Part is because of the extra 4 inches i added to the layout and part that i have nothing there to place plaster to. So.. Its back to the drawing board. A few shots of this fun. Laters

More plaster work. I got all the rough work done. I have a creek to be built yet. I don't like the plaster mud i am using. It drys real slow and once it is dry i have a hard time carving the cracks into the rock faces. shots below.
