I just installed the first crossover to the new upper deck main. I‘m laying the 4 tortoise’s on their side so they’ll be hidden from view. The switches are the old Walthers non DCC ready type so I insulated the frogs. I then solder a wire to one of the frog rails. I’m going to power the frog through one of the tortoise’s internal switches. In the photo I’m testing the polarity of the frog. I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. It seems I guessed right on the first try, no shorts. One done three to go.
