kind of hard to do with ebay

Bucky, it's 12 volts DC (that goes to the track) and 14 volts AC (that gets used for things like lights and switch machines). It's an HO/N scale power pack. !2 volts, no matter what the amperage, is not enough to power an LGB train You need an 18 volt power pack that is specifially for LGB. The one I posted a link to in a previous message is the least expensive one I know that will work well with you LGB set.
hey thanks again. ive been trying to find something used and cheap. the ebay listing for that transformer claims that it is for an lgb set. im still holding off on buying that inexpensive unit you suggested in hopes of finding something used for half the price. i just lost out on an old 3 amp transformer which would have done me just fine. it sold for $27.
a local shop has the 6200 mrc in stock for $134. i also found one on ebay for just under $100 with free shipping. still, im hoping to only pay around $50.
mb klein is the about the same price as the local shop once i add in shipping and i would rather support the local business if i do purchase the 6200 new. so thanks again for the link that you referenced above and thanks for the specs on the tech II 1400. just goes to show you cant trust all those ebay guys... ha ha.
