I'm trying to decide what to use for my O gage, around the ceiling. Since it is above and won't be seen, I'm not concerned what it looks like. So, a couple of ideas are to try and find at Lowes, or Home Depot, some 1/4" thick rubber sheets to cut up to place under the track, or maybe some indoor/outdoor carpet. Any other suggestions for cheap, sound deading material to put down? Thanks.

Foam camper tape is supposed to work pretty good. It's self-adhesive on one side and about 2" wide. I think the rolls are 25 feet long. Been a while since I bought one. I got mine to use on a camper shell but I've read where others recommend it for track. Since I never did get a chance to reseal the camper shell, I may just try it for roadbed.

Thanks, I will have to check that out.

If you want rubber sheets, look in the shelving department for rolls of rubber shelf liner. Comes in off-white and black (and more?) and is about 1/8 -inch thick. I don't know how the price compares to WS foam roadbed though.

There's also some stuff in the insulation department that is about 3 inches wide and about 1/4 inch thick in long rolls that always looked like to me it would work as decent roadbed. Its foam stuff, but not itchy isulation.

The rubber weatherstripping they sell for the bottom of garage doors should be fairly cheap and about the same size as two O guage tracks.
