Does anyone have any more pictures of this SP ex-UP SD45T-2 unit?? I've got the model, just need some more prototype pictures of it.

umm... UP never owned the "T" model 40's and 45's... until AFTER the UP/SP merger...

The only railroads that bought them new were the D&RGW and the SP....

Rob, don't know then. Either somebody had a really sick sense of humor or it was thee first heritage unit!!! LOL And thank you!!!

Photo taken in 1976... shows on SP rosters since 1976 at least.

Used a variety of sources, from my memory, the contemporary Diesel Spotter's guide, and http://espee.railfan.net/1976rost.html. (that's where I came across that photo. I DO wanna know what's up with the one in your pic though...)

Well here's the email I got from my friend in Australia tonight concerning this picture. I originally got it from him. Clever people with photo shop these days!!! LOL

Jerome, I have just arrived in Melbourne, I have forgiven Don, but I still do not know where the boards have been sent. I will for now assume out here? Moving right along, the patch you asked about is a doctored photo done by one of the guys in my Yahoo Espee Forever Group and as far as I know there is no other photographic view available. And WOW the motel on wheels has a caboose, what can I say??? Looks like Jacqui was having a good time as she has a smile on her face. I am pleased you had a good trip and the weather was good,it of course makes all the difference.
Regards Chris

I think that looks pretty sweet!! I would love to model one of those!! ohhh yeah, and im a UP fan and think thats alright :D :D It would make a nice modeling project and certainly an eye catcher.

May i have permission to save this picture for future modeling project? :D :D

I would still make it just to piss off people, after all, in model railroading, you can do whatever you want.

I have to tell ya I was almost convinced with the shado work done on the nose where the red & white "SP" is...you look closely you will see the shadows of the railings on the nose...

but who ever did this did a great job! LOL quite comical!!! when you zoom in the pic and focus on the number and the word 'pacific' you will see ther is an inconsitent blurring of the pixelization...still a great photo shop!

Sure had me convinced. Of course, I'm lucky I can adjust brightness correctly on my photos so almost any Photoshop job looks good to me. :) I'd still make the model, just to have something different. Display it right next to the photo and it will drive us UP fans up the wall. ;)
