SD45&SD40T-240t-2 motor replacment

What Athearn motors work for SD45&SD40T-2? Both are blue boxes and both need motor replacement's. Thank you.

There were various incarnations of the SD blue boxes , early , late , some had grey motors , some had the "brass can" motor . All should be able to use the Athearn # ath84080

Unless you want to spend some money to shove in some Mashimas or try to find a better chinese made alternative , the original cans are your best bang for the buck.

F's and PA,s are easier to upgrade to Hollands , I usually upgrade those and and save the motors for the SD / GP's if needed .

I installed the Athearn Genesis motors in my SD45s and T models. Dropped right in and wired the lights and sound. Very happy.

Okay thank you not going to buy Chinese motors just going to replace with athearn motors
