Update on my post 513.
Thanks to those posting comments.

Here, complaining to the doctors could have us struck off their practice. Yes I know that is wrong, but it's the way this country is going.

The good news is the pharmacy understood our challenge and had the medicine brought in from one of their other stores. Dawn is now up and about.

Now I am to take younger granddaughter to Brownies (which is 150 yards away).

So I saw on FB yesterday or maybe Saturday night a post from my niece, that said her dad, my brother, was listed in the selection list for Major so there will no longer be two Captain LastName in the family (my niece is also a Captain, now in the reserves I believe after doing a stint in the regular army to fulfill her ROTC commitment).

So I guess the paperwork is finally done. Covid and other things postponed it due to required classes for promotion not taking place as scheduled.
Congratulations to him, Thats a huge promotion.

Afternoon All,

Started out with a few chores this morning before heading to the train room. Today I put NBW's on the plates I put on yesterday. I was planning on using smaller ones, but they ended of being too small, so I ended up using the same size but this time I cut the NBW's flush (no drilling needed) and put a tiny drop of CA on a plate and then placed the NBW with a pair of locking tweezers. It was actually easy going so I finished all of them. This means the framework is complete. The next step is the assembly of the shuttle for the winch.

TomO- Sounds like you did well with the auctions

Troy- That's funny with Stalin giving the heart sign.

David-
I know you have a different HC system there, but can you change doctors? That would really piss me off.

Chad- Congrats to your brother.

Sherrel- That sounds like a nightmare for drivers in LA.

I hope everyone has a good night.

So you can be denied service for complaining about their crummy service and failing to provide a muck needed prescription in a timely manner?

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised! As some of the others have stated, we’re heading down that path ourselves.

TomO - changing your schedule does help and hopefully will do the trick for you. My dad is battling prostate cancer and he is now on his 2nd week of radiation treatments with 8 more weeks to go. We changed his activity schedule and it helped him a lot. In the mean time I am helping with his house/yard chores to stay caught up before winter sets in. Managing my place and his which is substantially bigger than mine is a task. I got my boat winterized yesterday. I have a few tweaks to do this week to say one and done with the boat. Put it away earlier than I wanted but the additional work with pop's place I had no choice. My last item for outside is last haul of firewood and stacking. Next is prepping for Thanksgiving. Gotta get the turkey fryer out and pickup some peanut oil. Looks like I will be doing a few turkeys and a few chickens in the fryer.

I hope you feel better!
Thanks. The fatigue is about 2 months old and finally I mentioned it to the PT who had it in her notes to the doctor. The doctor contacted me last week before I left for golf. I dislike video appointments but it worked out

Good afternoon, Everybody!

My doctor called me Sunday to inform me my diabetes is officially under control!

Now I'm trying to decide what kind of beer to buy to have one on Thanksgiving Day.

I'm thinking "it's Miller time"
Most beers have 11-13g carbs per 12 oz serving. Light beers like Miller Light have 6-9g carbs per 12 oz serving.
By comparison, a slice of white bread contains 15g carbs per slice.
As a type II diabetic, my doctor recommends no more than 150g carbs a day. My last A1c was 5.6.

Happy Monday...

Slow start to the chilly morning..Started in the 20s this morning, now up to 47°. Sunny with Calm winds.

Predictable Sunday Football wise: Ravens drop a heart breaker in the last 2 minutes. Giants get clobbered, (expected), Washington FC lost, and da Jets lost to the Raiders - pitiful performance....Vancouver beat the Habs in the NHL game I watched.

The Texans "last-second" win over the Bengals, made someone a $5.5M parlay winner...was the fix in? Not for nothing with all the emphasis on sportsbook on TV and from all the leagues, one has to wonder, eh? Poor old Pete Rose is still the bad guy....hell, he was just ahead of his time...

Now, off to the train room.
Joe- you still are not, as an employee of a professional team, allowed to bet on league games. Just ask Calvin Ridley Even worse is betting on the team that employs you.

James- I will keep your Dad & your family in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my Dad to PCa almost 30 years ago, but I know that treatments have come a long way since the mid-90’s. God bless.

Good morning! 😎

Good morning from the dark and crispy coolness of So. Central Wisconsin. 31f degrees now going per today’s guess to 59. Yesterday the weather guessers were saying mid 60’s. Either way it should be a nice day.

Today I will be working some on the layout.

When the sun rises at 6:49 I will venture outside for my walk finishing it at the stables to then exercise the 3 monsters Terry calls horses. One of the grooms told me yesterday afternoon to ride one but let the other two tag along on the trails. They enjoy the trails more than they do the paddocks. When I mentioned it to Terry in our nightly call she said she does that occasionally. She said there are 2 leads she uses in the tack room. I’ve been doing this for years and yesterday was the 1st time I heard about taking all 3 out at the same time.

I feel the need for a day trip. I am getting antsy sticking around the property and in the house. I did do a 10 mile round trip yesterday to Dick’s Sporting Goods, the LHS and Michaels. But that took only 90 minutes. The day light during doable outside hours has definitely shortened since the time change. I better setup my SAD lights. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 60’s so maybe a 75 mile trip over to Dubuque, Iowa and then East Dubuque, Illinois for some rail fanning on the way back. But that’s a maybe for tomorrow…

enjoy the day

Good Morning All!

34F @ 91% and foggy. Supposed to get to 43F later...ya we will see.

My phone took a crap. Sent a txt to a friend and he got something not even close to what I sent, had pix of stuff unknown with unrelated txt. So, factory it and deal with getting those Google Play app's needed for banking. No clue of what happened as I use my phone for talk, txt and pix along with those banking app's - nothing else. Anyway, it pretty much got all the contacts back and my pix get downloaded to my computer every once-in-awhile so that is no biggie. Anyway, the Veterans Day dinner at the Legion was fun. Seen people that we have not seen for awhile. As you can see from the pix, a lot of the vets wore original uniforms which was interesting. Got me to thinking: oh crap! Looking into getting into my dress blues for next year. Did not see any there so that should be a show stopper. Maria has hers but not sure she will fit into them; she is working on it.

Anyway, dinner was chicken with a ton of sides for choosing. Had a couple of beers and a 7/7 before we left. Got home and fell asleep in the recliner ( both of us ). This was for members and vets ONLY. All the local yokels went somewhere else.

Later

[edit] and I forgot, almost immediately after sending that txt, I got a spam call. Coincidence? Hmmm. At 1930 too.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those enjoying the not-yet-winter weather up here (down unders, enjoy the near summer).

Mostly recuperated from the gaming convention this weekend. The brain isn't in the get-back-to-writing mode yet, but it's clearing the cobwebs out.

MyMiniFactory.com has begun its black Friday sale. A lot of designers there have 40 or 50% off their entire stores. Except for those catering to the Model Railroad folks. Grrrr... I was hoping. I know that n-scale human figures are small (approx 10mm high) and they don't need a tone of detail, but I can't see paying $9 an stl file to make one figure.

My layout may be populated with WWII soldiers, Orcs, Goblins, and Nightmares. Since I already own the rights to print those for personal use.

Nice day ahead. High of 58 F-degrees coming up. But, we got cold enough for frost on the punkins last night. Looks like cold weather really won't hit Northern Indiana until right before our US Thanksgiving.

Here's another pic from this weekend's tournament. Japanese spigot mortar with LED in the smoke cloud. Edit: Photo by me!
