Back from lunch. Trash is taken out. Peeked through the gate at the neighbors two doors down.

We were on Amazon watch, since they didn't want packages left out all weekend while they were out of town. The Yorkie was peering out the door, so I assume they're home. Since the yorkie isn't talented enough to jump and open big heavy entry door. At least it never has before.

Wife made too much butter cream icing yesterday, so she's baking a half-batch of cookies to finish off the icing. I've been warned that those are hers, and they are to be placed in the freezer so she can pull one out every day for a few weeks.

"My stash" will probably be gone by the end of this week.

Worded two chapters today. The scenes with the Dominatrix were interesting to watch unfold.

Afternoon all,

Early lunch and laundry done for the week. Finally getting over some crud I got from the kids. At least now every time I cough, I'm bringing up the stuff I've been choking on the past few days. Slept good last night, but some of that may have been worrying what Medicare was going to do to us. City pharmacy plan is primary and Medicare secondary. So drug costs should remain relatively stable I hope. new plans from the city have me paying another $8.17 a pay period for health and dental. First raise on insurance in 5 years. At least we have verifiable conforming coverage, so there won't be any penalties from Medicare going forward.

Sounds stupid to "penalize" the people that can least afford medical coverage because they don't use yours or what you say they must have to qualify as coverage instead? I guess I shouldn't complain as we're fortunate to be able to keep the payments below what Medicare would charge. We were told that the wife's Medicare for adding parts B and D would have been about $210 and another $200+ depending on what coverage she chose on a part G or advantage plan.

Good Afternoon All!

32F @ 87% and partly.

Sure, was getting stuff done and we lost power. Waited for a bit, then decided to head towards Troy and get rid of the trash we accumulated. Dump is closed on Sunday, but there is a 'dumpster row' near town. Geesh, that was closed too. All the dumpsters were full; 20ish of them. Looks like Troyites got to them first.

Ya, did take camera and found a couple of BNSF's. See 'Ctclibby pix' in Prototype Railroads for more...

West bound almost to the control point at West Kootenai Falls.

Needless to say, power is back - so get busy again.

Later

Troy.
Here in the U.K. people want to destroy our past. Statues of people that have graced our land for a long time. They even want a statue of Winston Churchill to be taken down. ?????
Some people even want church bell to stop their chime as they are too loud? I ask you. Ridiculous. One Town Council has bowed to their wishes.
I could go on about some wanting to do away with Christmas, but I am getting near political.
End of rant.

Train room is calling.
I recently read this in the news.......

Jeremiah Igunnubole, ADF UK’s legal counsel, said: “A man has been convicted today because of the content of his thoughts – his prayers to God – on the public streets of England.
“We can hardly sink any lower in our neglect of basic fundamental freedoms of free speech and thought.”
ADF UK plans to appeal the conviction.

This is NOT meant to be a political or religious statement. But when anyone can be penalized for their "thoughts", things have gotten terribly out of control.

On another note, I have been wanting a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone for a long time. So long they now have a DJI MIni 4 Pro available. With a price tag of a bit over $1100.00, I just could not justify spending that much money (plus 8.25 % taxes) for another toy.
Well it just so happened that Amazon ran a one day "Black Friday" deal on the Mini 4....... 25% off. So while it is still not cheap, no one ever hardly has a "deal" on DJI drones. So I bought myself an early Christmas present. I recently did a drafting project for an old customer and was not expecting anymore work until next March. The "extra" work and a bit of the money helped pay for my purchase of the drone and a new battery for my Trailblazer.

That's really cool, and looks like its going to be a lot of fun!

Tea please, going to need it!!

Not a fan of Christmas at all, never really 'got it' when I was a kid, only ever asked for practical presents even when I was about seven (Christmas list one year, roll of double sided tape, some blu-tak, a bit of Lego and an electric screwdriver!!! I got them all as well!!!) Realised Santa was nonsense when I was six and was pointing out the plot holes in the nativity story when I was seven, much to the chagrin of our local Rector who by then was going a bit doo-lally and I suspect tried to have me either ex-communicated or exorcised!!

I tolerate it at best now, never been the same since I lost a good friend in the run up to Christmas over 20 years ago now. Keep my festive chin up for my eight year old son but even he is not that big a fan either. He has told me that Santa doesn't exist (I never told him, he worked it out for himself) so really rather glad I don't have to keep up that silly pretense any more.

Good evening all (Well morning really).

In trouble for thinking?
Soccer player to referee, "Can you send me off for thinking?"
Referee, "No."
Soccer player, "I think you are a xx**%x"
Referee, "Off."

SANTA
We listen for Santa's Bell. Magic. Lose the bell and lose so much.

Never rode the North Pole Express, (Although I have seen the North Pole Fire House, it exists on US 11), But I have worked with the Conductor. (He bids on normal assignments once the seasonal jobs come off). Like most others, I lost my bell around the time I was eight. Now, I sadly watch as My Grand Children have lost theirs too. The Magic was wonderful, while it lasted. Now, they are turning into little adults.....

The Bell still rings loud and clear for me! God willing it always will.

I keep the spirit of Christmas despite the world around me. For my wife and I our Catholic traditions remind us of the true promise of Christmas. I set up our decorations and my trains for me to enjoy. Thankfully, my wife shares my love of Christmas decorations too. The trains, not so much, but she appreciates the joy they bring me.

My daughters didn't bother to show up for Thanksgiving. My son never noticed my Thanksgiving train and tree. My grandsons no longer believe in Santa. The world is not as I hoped it would be. But none of that will damage the spirit of Christmas in me.

Advent serves as a reminder that Christmas embodies hope, peace, joy, and love.

Christmas has transcended faith; it is celebrated by many, including non-believers. For most who observe Christmas, the spirit of goodwill towards others prevails. This is a wonderful gift for the holiday season.

The Merry Bells will soon be ringing.

Enjoy the Holidays Everybody!

I pray we all have a Merry Christmas.

Good morning all. A wet and miserable looking day. A number of small, but important jobs to attend to. One job is to take a dolls house and furniture to the Charity Shop. Both our granddaughters' have had great fun with it. Now another child can have joy with it.

A large coffee on the go please, Flo.

Just purchased a limited edition Ale Wagon. It should arrive this week.

Back later

Bill - Wow! 14°, after 18° yesterday. It gets colder in Indiana earlier than I thought. Out of curiosity, I looked Tipton up on Wikipedia. What an interesting history.
And to compliment Tipton, Fort Wayne is named after US Revolutionary General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, and has strong ties to Johnny Appleseed. Add in the Indy suburb of Irvington, where former head of the KKK, DC Stephenson lived, murdered, raped, etc, We've got quite a history.

Oh, and don't forget that the 19th Indiana Inf Regiment was one of the 5 in the Iron Brigade during the American Civil War.

We've got all kinds of good as well as crazy in this state.

I used to put a tree up inside the house with the family Frisbee placed up near the top.
Now, I just get a ladder out and put the Frisbee up in a tree out in front of the house.
My brother had the family Frisbee for a few years but since his daughters moved out, he just didn't have the Frisbitarian enthusiasm anymore, so he mailed it to me.

Good morning from Verona, the one in Wisconsin not Romeo & Juliette’s Verona, Italy. I bet my Verona is colder than theirs! 14f/-10c degrees now (real feel is 17, not a typo) 29 later today. I need to look up how the “real feel” fka wind chill can be higher than the actual temperature?

Today, 2 visits by cleaning companies, noon and 4pm for estimates. Recommended by neighbors. The daughter’s cleaning lady will come by around 7pm. Didn’t even know the daughter had hired one. She is a former employee in the daughter’s old day care business. Decided she had a better future as a house cleaner than a child care provider.

Ok, I just looked at Verona, Italy’s temperature it’s 52f/11c degrees at 2:19pm. 7 hour time difference, the same difference I have from AemJaY1 in Zurich!

I was told NOT to start hauling out Christmas stuff. So I won’t.

The niece has finally after 6 months picked a date for her wedding. 5/24/2025 in Palm Springs, California where all the hotels must be decked out in real gold fixtures based on the prices. The daughter than says yesterday to her mom that we should get a AirB&B instead. I told the 2 of them to check with my brother 1st to find out if he has any friends that will rent out a house there. They found a few AirB&B’s that will hold 8 of us. $$$$$. In 3 hours I will call my brother in Hawaii, 5 hour time difference with him.

Weathering here at the house today at my bench

Enjoy the day
