Speaking of alcohol. I had four 12oz cans of beer today. (National Bohemian) The most I had in many years. It was hot outside, and they went down easily. What is better than a good cold pilsner beer on a sweltering day?

Makes me wonder how I used to drink the best part of a case (24 cans) and a fifth of whiskey in a day. I can't say I miss those days. I can't remember many of them. My old friend tells me I had fun.

Happy 4th of July everyone. Out in the Appalachian mountains again today, and this is not really "me"...but out of curiosity i just had to check out that Impala:View attachment 193229View attachment 193230View attachment 193231
For sale and it says big block motor on the sale sign. Also big rod with round handle on the right side of steering wheel, so i'm guessing 3 speed manual (?).
had a 1969 Impala with a 327, and it had a PowerGlide automatic. And if the engine is the one advertised on the fenders, a 327 is not a big block.

Reading about the election here in the U.K..
Not this one in 2024, but the one in 1919.
The debt Britain was in after the Great War was HUGE.

During World War I, the British government faced significant financial challenges as it borrowed heavily to finance the war effort. The national debt increased from £650 million in 1914 to a staggering £7.4 billion in 1919 To meet wartime expenditures, Britain primarily relied on borrowing rather than taxation. Additionally, there was a major campaign to sell war bonds, some of which had up to 100-year terms. Remarkably, the last war bonds were not paid off until 2015

"Whiskey bottles and brand-new cars. Oak tree you're in my way"

I had shorts (even shorter) and socks like that, I had great legs! 😁

This song used to be the one I posted when I sent out invitations to our 4th of July parties.

I used to be too hot to handle, now it's just too hot.

Things change, now it's nap time.
