Hi, I'm new here. I've always had a thing for miniatures, and I'd really like to get into creating scale model scenery.

Anyway... I was looking at static grass and wondering, how tall can it get?

Also, what options are there for filling in a large area with tall grasses--and by tall, I mean 1" in real life? Is this even possible? I want to do this for some larger-scale scenes I'd like to do.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Many manufacturers make long grass. I use Woodland Scenics myself. It comes in 4 different colors and is easy to install on your layout.Ron

I use faux fur colored with Dye-na-flow fabric paint:

The little guy is HO and the big guy is 1/43 O scale.

I think you'll find Harold's methods the most economical and the most realistic. There are static grass dispensers that make fine grass stand up tall but it costs over $100. Making tall field grass that looks good is one of the more difficult parts of scenery and Harold has come up with the best and most cost effective solution I've seen yet, especially for large areas.
