While in an LHS today I noticed a PRR R50B express refer on the shelf. The body style and paint scheme looked very much like a pair of my concor MP54 coaches. Were the express refers ever run as part of a passenger train or where they only on freights?
Thanks

R50Bs were used for many reasons, including the Mushroom train that ran on the Octaroro Branch prior to 1960, and trains on and off the Delmarva. They were refrigerated passenger express cars owned by the PRR, and operated similarly to the REX express cars. Not found on the General or Broadway, but on many other trains.
Check out the consists books found on Jerry B's Keystone crossings site.
