A friend put this kit together and painted it by hand for me. I slightly weathered it. I don't know much about the car, but I like having it on my layout; wish I had more.
He also put this gondola together for me and hand painted it.
He hand paints all his rolling stock. He paints them with about 2 to 3 thin layers.
He kitbashed this boxcar since there is not one available in a kit for CN.

Wow, those are some awesome freight cars.
That's a swell lookin' car. I've been tempted to scratchbuild one of those but.... aaah too many rivets!

Very unique looking. I like the paint/scheme.

Here is a better shot of the PRR boxcar slightly weathered and another CNR boxcar put together, detailed and painted by my friend. (sorry about the curvature caused by the macro lens).
Years ago I would scratchbuild him structures for his layout such as this tower, and in return, he would put together Westerfield kits or scratchbuild boxcars for me that didn't exist as a kit. A nice arrangement we had, but he no longer models in HO scale; he has moved on to live steam.
