Just wondering, I've got access to several fairly large sheets that were old political campaign signs, prolly 3X5 or so and was wondering if these would have any use on the RR?

1) Folded in multiple Zs and stood on edge it can be a support for scenery
2) In the flat it can be the base for concrete parking lots, intermodal yards, etc
3) It can be bartered for other stuff….

The brand name for that material is Coroplast. R/C plane enthusiasts sometimes built aircraft from Coroplast.

Yeah, don't throw it away! It makes a very good representation of modern corrugated steel walls, so it's a great start for scratchbuilding things like warehouses, in addition to the other things mentioned.

A big art supply shop here had clear sheets of this stuff. After I thought about I decided it would be a good basis for flat background buildings since the see-through material showed the internal structure and gave it a 3D look. I went back this week to pick up a sheet and they stopped carrying it.

Hmmm, we have a primary election next week. Might be able to score some of this stuff for warehouse walls, etc...

I built myself a mock-up building from plastic cardboard, as I got a couple of pieces from work to play around with.
I used sellotape to put it together with, the roof is made from a "for sale" sign that I got from Walmart on my last trip to Pennsylvania.
Now its done, I know what size of kit building I,ll need to buy, to fit the space.
The school buses are Matchbox ones.

The background hills in this pic are Coroplast. The grey one is simply painted a hazy grey, the one to the right is painted green, then covered in ground foam.
