So, I thought I'd share a recent oddity from work...

  • As a large portion of my job, we verify ID's before allowing person's aboard the Air Station. Recently, I check this guy's ID, then say "Have a great day." to which he replies "You're welcome." then drives away...
  • Another portion of our "duties" is to verify ALL 911 calls (our dispatch is a local 911 cal center, for the base). So often we get 911 hang ups, that we have to check on. The most recent one, the excuse was "I was only trying to order pizza." It just so happens that the land line phones on base require you to dial 99 then 1 then the area code, ect, seems people like to dial 911 instead.
  • Recently (around a month ago) we had a rash of officers getting locked out of vehicles. The worst one, happened to be while a 3rd officer was in the back seat on his way to be dropped off at another gate. The two officers up front got out, and locked the car while it was running...
  • So this one Marine was sitting alone one night, at a stop sign that see's little traffic at night, mostly only prison guards (We happen to have the largest brig west of Leavenworth). This particular Marine rarely pulls traffic, he usually ends up patrolling the flight line... Around 4AM this car slows, but rolls the stop sign at around 15 miles an hour. He decides that this offense is too great to let go, so he stops the vehicle. The drive proceeded to explain his offense, "I didn't stop because I didn't want to spill my coffee." The Marine was so impressed with the excuse that he let him go!

I can't Talk about the Odd people I work with. They carry Guns and knives and will use them if provoked or if they feel threatend in any way! it''s Best not speak out, I love to breath;):):D God you have to love working for the Government!:D

Those are pretty good Josh. Sounds like the excitement is just high enough to make the job entertaining. I really can't share anything that I see at work either...way too boring.
