New interchange?


Personally, I think interchange rules should be limited to the value of items (the people doing the interchange shall choose), and the technical requirements, such as coupler type, truck type, ect...

Its a very deep subject though. We can scrape the surface early (such as now) by trading decals (as said before). Next step is trading rolling stock, which just requires the traders to agree on the value they'll spend (no there's no complaint of being ripped off).

The final, and most complex step is actual interchange. Which really can be mostly accomplished in a one sided manor:

Originating road makes up the car, following simple rules: RP25 contour wheels, body mounted couplers (#5 or #58), NMRA weight specs. Then numerous host roads sign up, and the car is shipped around. Back to the 1st post, either back & forth from the home road, or progressive, one road to another ect...
