I don't have a photo of a FL9 so I'll post a drawing of one I did a while back. The engine switched over from diesel to electric at 125TH Street New York City before entering the tunnel that led to Grand Central. Notice the two red wooden beams (one longer than the other) attached to the trucks. They keep the 3rd rail shoes insulated from the engine.
