I bought this on eBay:

I bought it for the NS MoW box car.

As you can see, the N&W box car has a messed up decal.

I need help finding a car (preferably running around in the current day) that is the same paint scheme as the NW, but patched out for another owner. I'd like a prototype car to model, regardless of road. I want to try my hand out at patching cars.

So far, my searches have turned up nothing.

While it may be nice to have a prototype to match to, it isn't necessary I don't think.
If you want to try your hand at patching, just pick what you want and do it.
If you are looking for references of patching, there should be plenty of examples online.
CHeck out loco rosters and look for sites with pics of locos for patching ideas- I realize patching a loco is not that same as patching a boxcar, but patching is patching, regardless of what you are patching it from or to.
Just a thought and idea.

I want to be prototypical, but there are very few black box cars out there. NW and SCL were the only two that had them. I was thinking about doing a prototype patched from a SCL car, but I haven't been able to find any photos of those either.
