Don't watch, come help! I'm sure my jigsaw will fit your hands.
I have enough headaches with my own layout. I'll just be rooting for you on the sidelines

Good point. Not the best choice of wordsMike, it sounds like blinds on that window might be a priority?
You may want to re-phrase that invite.Don't watch, come help! I'm sure my jigsaw will fit your hands.
I knew I could count on you to point something like that out!You may want to re-phrase that invite.
You said it, not meI knew I could count on you to point something like that out!
The Hallmark Christmas movies are keeping my wife and daughter occupied and out of my hair.Good for you! I love watching this build.
You had a much more productive Thanksgiving break than I did
Wow! Got a lot done Mike, you'll soon be running trains, wish I had that kind space, makes mine look like it's in Z scalePardon my construction mess!
I was able to spend several hours on the layout over the Thanksgiving break., Here is the progress.
Continued around the bend ad started the descend out of the mountains. The space between the straight and the backdrop is where the grain facility is going to reside (first photo). The coal mine will be located inside that sweeping curve (second photo).

I also got the bus wires ran for all the raised sub roadbed I've done so far. All I have to do now is trim it and put it in the terminal strip and it should all be live.

If that's the case, when the holidays are over you should just chain them to a radiator. I'm obviously kiddingThe Hallmark Christmas movies are keeping my wife and daughter occupied and out of my hair.
I totally agree with that ! Is there a track plan somewhere ?Looking fantastic, what a great run you are going to have there!
There is no track plan, (not on paper that is). It's all been making it up as I go along.I totally agree with that ! Is there a track plan somewhere ?

There has been a lot of discussion and bouncing ideas off of a couple members here that has helped me evolve this layout into what it is. I'm very happy as to how its moving along. Considering two years ago I had pretty much lost interest in the hobby. They gave me the shot in the arm to get going on something again.
Thanks for the kind words.I've been on this forum for a short time, but I've already learned so much from the members here, and I can't tell everyone how much I appreciate their input.
Looking at this again, a short video would be nice (hint, hint)Track laying crew got busy last night and laid some rail. So far so good, except lack of feeders. that hopefully will get remedied tomorrow while the wife and daughter go shopping.
Maiden voyage:
