I just purchased an MTH 4500-hp turbine and I'm trying to figure out why it wont smoke. I've checked the heating element inside the loco and its hot, the fan is working, tho no smoke is forming! The fluid I'm using is the "Proto-Smoke" that came with it since I've lost my other bottle of fluid. If anyone has any ideas or has seen this problem help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks, ~Will~

You might have the passage blocked with smoke fluid. Try blowing gently into the outlet of the exhaust. Make sure function 7 is turned on.
Other than that, you'll have to call MTH.
Smoke unit is not blocked, I've taken the shell off and cleaned the fluid chamber and refreshed the wicks. On the other note, function 7 is not the smoke on off function, for the 4500 turbines its function 11 for on/off and function 12 for smoke intensity.
Just wondering tho, I've never heard of function 7 doing smoke, all 4 of my MTH Berkshires are function 8, maybe its different between steam locomotives depending on generation.
ugghh MTH, LOOK one thread down, its always something
