Did any other railroad have one of these cars or was this car particular to U P? I ask this question as I noticed the real U P car has 4 panels on each side of the door while the Bachmann model has 5 panels. Also the trucks are different. Still, I have to agree, this is an unusual piece of rolling stock and looks very neat. I'm guessing this car only saw road service when it was being moved from yard to yard to be used in "rough handling" demonstrations.
Quote.....For 11 years this demonstration car traversed not only home rails, over most of the UP system, but those of other roads also and won wide acclaim.
As for any other RR doing something like this it is not known to me.

However Bachmann did make a run of these for CN railroad

These arrived this morning, Great Northern was described as "weathered", (not very well either), so I've cleaned that up and now it's in a "nearly new" condition with decals intact.

Second one has become more of a challenge, not sure how many layers of paint have been applied, quite a few by the looks of it, and very liberally applied too. It looks to be a Chessie System caboose or possibly UP, hard to tell at the minute.

Quite the difference between these caboose and the Rapido you purchased.

I have long had an interest in French Railways but was not impressed by offerings from the usual manufacturers of French trains.
My usual model shop is an agency for the new firm REE and after seeing their models I decided to go with them and convert my current layout to a continental style.
This is one of three locos I have , a 141 which is in usual terms a 2-8-2 or Mikado.

The loco has DCC sound, synchronized puffing smoke , Cylinder drain steam and the linkage to the feed water pump and the speedometer are there.

The tender has Briquettes as well as coal as per prototype.

As a bonus it came with a train !

I have disposed of a lot of my other items but have kept some of my favorites such as my Hiawatha collection and my U.P. Turbines of which I have all examples except the coal burning version.
But this arrived this morning.

Oh balderdash, I need to move and get a bigger layout, mines way way too small for one of those beasts.

Colin, did you get the REE locomotives from A & H in Northampton ?

First one cleaned up nice, the second one is kind of gnarly!

What are your plans for it?
The Great Northern will be lightly weathered and I'm hoping to add at least an interior light and a EOT if I can find out where its supposed to be mounted.

The Chessie is going for a repaint, (I've nothing Chessie related anyway), but the paint work was badly done, brush painted I think, it was so thick I couldn't even find the grab rails on one side of it, hence cleaning it all off and starting again.

car made by ClassOneModelWorks but a private road name for MCIS. I ordered it via HomeShops.net who specializes in private freelance model railroads. I also got a box car made by Intermountain for the WNRR. They showed up this morning!

No, Because these locos and rolling stock are produced in small runs the items I wanted were not available from A & H at the time.
I obtained them through a contact on another website I use .
I will order others from A & H when they become available.

Ran out of my latest “most” favored Clear coat. I also needed a few more colors for custom graffiti colors. The NobleKnights distribution, corporate HQ, game store and retail store is just 5 miles from the house.

These showed up a few weeks ago but were on the upgrade bench.

They are the Scale Trains Pullman Standard 5820 hoppers. I bought 6 of them. 3 in Exxon Mobil and 3 in Pullman leasing.

As with all Scale Trains rolling stock, I trashed the couplers, and installed KDs. and added Smokebox graphics conspicuity striping to bring them to 2005+ era.

These little people came in the mail yesterday. I can't believe all three for $6.00 on ebay, plus only $2 shipping? Pinch me, I need to wake up because this never happens: (They usually charge $9 a piece plus 5.95 shipping)

I had the man with the sack on my old layout, somewhere along the way he got lost,

The middle person is a petite woman sitting, holding her purse, and the third is a railroad worker holding on to a railing. He is going on the SW-1. The woman will be at one of the depots and not sure where the man with the sack is going, maybe walking to my hobo camp.
