I did my N scale wharf that way... Each plank individually shaved off a 1/32" sheet of basswood than stained. I stained in batches, starting with yellow and getting darker. Then I weathered with old makup powders.You are really doing a bang up job , I always enjoy the rail raising and lowering part of the layout building , I‘ve done a couple of the Campbell Truss bridges , they look fantastic finished, if I may make one suggestion to pre stain your wood before building, you can actually do it before final assembly as well. Staining before assembly gives each section of lumber its own characteristic. Keep up the great work.

Ouch. Been there, done that. I know the feeling.Still working on bridges, I took a couple days off. I was trying to kick the cat and I kicked the door frame, bare foot of course. I cut the crap out of my foot, so I've been laid up a couple days. I hadn’t even had my coffee yet. Lol. All good now.
