I recently purchased a KCS Belle FP9A and F9B for nearly a steal! $270 for those two units, both with DCC and Tsunami sound. Purchased 5 Rivarossi KCS passenger cars for $60, and hoping to get the other 8 by next week. In the end I want the most prototypical KCS Belle executive train out there!

Intermountain did an OK job on the F's, but they are missing a lot of prototypical detail, which I would expect to have, for that price, then again, if things don't need fixing, it's no fun, right? :p To date, I can't figure out why Tsunami is giving manufacturers run down sound decoders with just a few horns, not 16. The KCS FP9A's use different horns than supplied on the Tsunami, which kind of sucks, and I might end up breaking down and buying a new decoder with the 16 horns.

Rivarossi did a good job on the passenger cars, though they are out of era, but that's an easy fix with a few cosmetic changes.

Now onto the pics (don't mind the cab phone and loco radio):

Nice looking Belle's there Josh!!!
Thank you much, Jerome! I've always loved Belle paint, it's just...dare I say beautiful. Lol.

Very nice! Let's see the passenger cars? And a video with sound would be nice.
Thank you much, Michael. Ask and yee shall receive. Video will be coming later in the week as I don't have my own layout, I will have to go to a close friends this weekend to do that!

Now even though they are not perfect, I'll take roughly, 12 bucks a car, vs. 50....hehehe.

Horn hooks are going to be scrapped tomorrow. Heh.
Everytime I see them, I remember a customer coming into the store asking if we had any horn hooks and small rubber bands, of course by reflex I asked him why, when we have kadee's? He goes "f*** kadee's, them are the worst things ever made!!! Horn hooks are the best invention for model railroaders" I said, they always uncouple though. He goes "that's why I need the rubber bands......"

Not too bad looking cars for cheap. To really set it off, you should paint the interiors, add some passengers, and maybe add some lighting.

lol'd at the horn couplers, wow!

I agree with ya! Already in the plans! But putting passengers in there, will have to wait, until I can get some cheap people, woodland scenics is WAY to much money. 15 bucks for 5 people....no thanks. Heh. But eventually, will be done. Thanks for the input!

Hey Man nice to see some one else modeling the KCS Executive Train besides me lol. I've got 3 of the Cars done so far Heavener,Port Arthur, and the Arthur Stilwell

Bachman has some cheap, nice looking figures. I saw them at my LHS for $8 for 5 people.

Ill share with you something I made a post about a while ago. If you go to ebay and search for the company called wehonest_cn, they have some really good deals. I saw where you could get 100 people painted in various poses for around 12 bucks. Granted they are not as detailed as bachmann or some of the other companies that charge 10 dollars for 5, but if you are looking for scene fillers they work really well. I also found some where they are all sitting (what you were looking for) Another member of the site said he just ordered 300 for 20 bucks. So you might check them out. I got 110 trees for 20 bucks from them. Not the tallest trees (the ones I got ranged from 2-4 inches) but they are pretty detailed and form easily. My gf spruces them up with some chalk and boy they look almost as good as woodland scenics. So i hope this helps! Here is the link to the ebay site for the various poses: http://cgi.ebay.com/100-pcs-HO-scal...l_Railways&hash=item5d29f829d6#ht_4619wt_1013 Here is the link for people just sitting: http://cgi.ebay.com/90-pcs-HO-scale..._RR_Trains&hash=item230b19f494#ht_3372wt_1013

Ahhh man those look great! Glad to see another KCS railfan ;) and ditto on your statement! I literally went "oh sh*t" when I saw those! Heh. Have you gotten the Intermountain F's yet?

Ahh okay, that's good info, I work at a hobby shop as "extra board" and a shortline "extra board" as well! Lol. Thank you! I'll check them out.

I do Plan to get all 3 of the IMRC KCS F Units, but for now the Athearn KCS ACe or the T55 KCS ES44AC will have to be stand ends for now,but Hey KCS did do that while the F Units were getting painted lol.

Did they really use a GEVO?! Goodness...yuck! Lol. I can handle the ACe...haha kind of. There is a business coach, observation car on ebay for KCS, I guess it's brass, but the starting bid is 495, and it's not even in the best of shape.

Damien, that's a wicked cool looking shot, with an SD70Ace passenger train!

Josh, I hope you win that set they look pretty nice.

It is an nice shot Hope fully i can knock out the "Kansas City" vista dome next since no one does the modern day KCS Executive Cars.

Nobody really does the executive cars for any road (maybe except for UP)

I model NS. There's only ONE accurate OCS car out there. It's the Bachmann Silver Series Vista Dome #24, "Delaware".
