I recently purchased a KCS Belle FP9A and F9B for nearly a steal! $270 for those two units, both with DCC and Tsunami sound. Purchased 5 Rivarossi KCS passenger cars for $60, and hoping to get the other 8 by next week. In the end I want the most prototypical KCS Belle executive train out there!
Intermountain did an OK job on the F's, but they are missing a lot of prototypical detail, which I would expect to have, for that price, then again, if things don't need fixing, it's no fun, right?
To date, I can't figure out why Tsunami is giving manufacturers run down sound decoders with just a few horns, not 16. The KCS FP9A's use different horns than supplied on the Tsunami, which kind of sucks, and I might end up breaking down and buying a new decoder with the 16 horns.
Rivarossi did a good job on the passenger cars, though they are out of era, but that's an easy fix with a few cosmetic changes.
Now onto the pics (don't mind the cab phone and loco radio):
