I got a few older athearn engines that im going through and cleaning up due to them looking like they sat in water.

right now at this point the trucks/wheels are pretty rusted so putting it on a track to test the motor is a no go.

Is there a way to bench test the motor. It has been disasembled and cleaned ect...

thanks Mike

these motors are just like any other put a wire to each tab and it will spin(hopefully) you can use wires cliped to the rails/motor tabs to check it.

Mike, take your power pack, put 2 wires to the track voltage leads. power off, throttle off. Using alligator clips on those 2 wires, connect one to the bottom motor strip, and one to the top strip. Hold on to the motor, power pack on, slowly turn the throttle up. There you go...........
