HO Product Line Updates

Guys,

We’re working on rewiring the shop to resolve electrical issues we’ve had since July. The work scope keeps changing but as of today, it’s figured out and we can move forward. This will start getting injection mold inserts ready for new stuff once the work is completed.

The PCB’s for the locomotive kits are done a major rework. They will go out for prototyping by the end of the week. This change brings them to a production standard. The PCB’s are available in DCC or DCC/dWiDCC variations. The initial release will power up to 6 of our traction motors. You can also use the system to power 6V motors such as the new Kato truck based drive.

We’ll be moving the work on the 6V motors over to a 12V single system and offer a DCC option in both sound and non-sound formats ASAP.

The Key Benefit of our sound system is an Audio Codec, 4 Gb of Flash Memory, and the ARM7 32 Bit processor which will provide a very clear and high quality system. We have been taking sound recordings of locomotives in actual operation to give the best possible library. The GP/SD40-2 is done; more are on the way including the GP38/38-2.

The big news is that today, our funding for the advanced laser system went through. This enables us to etch, cut, mark and weld a variety of materials including metal up to 4MM thick on a 48” X 48” bed.

A huge boost to our manufacturing, this will bring all of our micro machining we did with photo-etching in house. We can offer these services without the need for a photo-tool using standard drawing software extensions so it forms a very competitive alternative to photo-etching. Our tolerances are 0.001” for positioning, 0.0002” for repeatability which soundly beats a chemical process.

The new OEM site is up. http://www.rti-micron.com/

We are able to projects big or small.

All the best, keep up the support. With the electrical issues nearly behind us and the new abilities to do all of our tooling and production in house, 2013 should be a good year to bring the work back from China.
