Hey all! (the bug bitten again?)

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Greetings!

After seeing James May's 'Toy Stories' on the train set, it sort of nudged me to go through my old train stuff. Well, not 'really' old. I stopped being into trains about 5 years ago (22 now). And first off, I think I'm alot like James May in that I'm not so much a 'model railroader', but an enthusiast of the train set. I'm also the guy who made a model F-16 with Rafale wings and a SD40-2B if that shows how much I care about prototypical accuracy. :D

I'm not sure if this minor resurgence will lead anywhere anytime soon. But in the mean time, I'm glad to have found this community, you all seem like a friendly, tolerant bunch. :)

I loved James May's great train race.
A lot of people fall in and out of the hobby (myself included) and all have their favorite aspect of it, that's what makes it so great!
Good luck with whatever you do and welcome aboard!

Hi Tachikoma and welcome to the forums.

Btw how little was the bug you got bitten by? LoL

I also start and stop as different things pop up but MRR is a great hobby and because it's your RR it's your choice what you do with it. Mainly have fun in the process!

Enjoy yourself on here.

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forums..I'd love to see pictures of the sd40-2B you created if you have any.

I made it years ago, before I got into model aircraft, when I had no plastic or putty skills...I'm not sure I want to post it before I can fix it. :D Not as embarrassing as grafting a SD40 DB housing onto a Geep-38...for no reason.

Trussrod, I'm not sure how big, but I'm buying rolling stock. Boxcars w/o roof walks and Maxi-IIIs.
