I could use a resource for obtaining motor brushes and traction tires for older AMH tempo FM C Liners. Could bullfrog snot be used in place of traction tires on these units?
I'm sure that BS can be used in place of traction tires. As for the brushes, the easiest thing would be to just take some for another motor, doesn't even have to be AHM, and file them to fit.
I have 2 of those C Liners and your post got me curious. The traction tires on both have turned to dust but they both would run, one better than the other. I pulled the wheelsets off the non powered front truck of the bad runner and pressed the wheels off with a North West Short Line puller. Then I removed the traction wheels from the powered truck axles on the good engine and replaced them with wheels from the front truck. The powered truck now has 4 solid wheels and no traction tires. It runs well and I added a little weight to the nose so the front truck will pick up better electrically. You might lose a little pulling power without traction tires although I think the little added weight minimised that. Hunt around for a junker at a swap meet for a dollar or two. All you need really is a front truck for the wheels. If you get lucky it may even have a decent motor to solve your brush problem. I hope this is some help for you.
