I'm new to this list and also to model trains.

I have a basic Marklin H0 train set that has been collecting dust for perhaps 15 years. I have 3 Marklin engines:

1. An electric engine, model 3463, (serie 465), serial E5012287.
2. A diesel engine that looks like model 30747 (http://www.marklin.com/marklin_pdb.html), but older techology perhaps (serial 00238935),
3. And a little stream engine, serial M2005267.

I have a basic transformer - not digital (I think model 6631).

I also have a Fleischmann H0 ICE model 4460, given to me by the architect Jens Peters, who designed the interior of the real ICE's (generations 1 & 2).

Is it possible to run the Fleischmann on the Marklin tracks?

Thanks very much for your advice,

Russell

Do either of them run on two or three rails? If they both run on two rails, then it will work. If they all run on three rails, it will work. If one runs on two rails and the other runs on three rails, then it will not work.

Most Fleishmann can be converted to run on Marklin's 3rail AC power with a simple bridge rectifier or one of the digital decoder circuits for ac power. Most all of Marklins new engines in the lower line up use a DC can motor, but use electronics to convert the ac power to dc. I also have a small Marklin layout. Cheers Mike

I do no know, most all the German train manufactures offer thier products for either Marklin AC with the center pickup ski or 2 rail DC. Best to contact Euro Rail Hobbies in BC Canada or any major dealer of Fleishmann trains as most carry several brands including Marklin. Renaulds Trains is good as well. Mike
