wow zak, that looks really cool, im going to try that as well. Oh yeah and i got a little more done on the layout last night. Im ready to lay track next weekend. :) Also you got that roster list yet?

thanks
Austin

I've got a UP Athearn Blue Box that I'm going to paint up and give it a good detail job. UP doesn't run over the Mullan Pass so I'm not modeling UP anymore since My future layout will be of the pass and Helena to Trident, Montana.

I think doing that paint job will be a great project.

hey zak you think maybe you could come over next weekend and help me with the trackwork?

if its ok with my parents

lemme know

thanks
Austin

I have one planned, I'm thinking of using a close match tan, adding a few drops of BNSF orange to get a slightly orange tone.

can someone explain to me how to paint? i dont know how you can paint that straight. What colors do you use for BNSF heritage II? where do i get the decals?

thanks

Austin

Microscale has the decals. There's a few companies that offer BNSF Orange & green. The orange is the same for H1 & New Image.

can you list a few companies that carry the colors? and the green and prange, and yellow that im going to need to pull this thing off?

thanks
Austin

You'll need no yellow if you're using Microscale decals. They provide yellow stripes, unless you plan to do the anti-climber or handrails. I'd suggest using Testors yellow then. Here's a Walther's search which lists all the BNSF colors:

You're gonna want to take a look at my BNSF dash 9 page:

Scrolling through that will allow you to know which decal sheet to buy. Microscale 87-1024 covers the 47xx & 48xx. Microscale 87-1076 covers most other Dash 9's. As always, check the prototype for an accurate representation.
